nyone else noticed Depay's form dropped after Shaw's injury? I hear he was closest to Shaw and they definitely forged a great partnership on the left with shaw overlapping and Depay cutting in.

Has Depay ever played well with Martial ?

Depay's better games for United have generally been when the Frenchman has been out.

I thought they had a good understanding at the beginning of the season when Martial was up top. Lots of little intricate passing moves and running off of each other

I would say it was ok,wasnt as fluet but early days I guess.
The problem in my view is we have two very talented players who occupy that one area and seem to only ever perform in that one area too.Martial isnt great as a lone forward and Depay isn't great on the right or in a lone forward role either.

I want to see Memphis play under a better manager, he does deserve a second season imo. But he seriously needs to buck his ideas up.

I think the whole Shaw/Depay partnership thing is a myth. Before the injury real concerns were there about a lack of tracking back from Depay when Shaw bombed forward. Against Swansea that was made clear when Depay didn't get back and follow his man which led to crosses coming in from there.

For Shaw to be in our side and to be allowed to get forward he needs a left winger who can do his share of defending.

I disagree, Shaw is hardly Alba or Alaba in playing style, he's actually quite conservative. In fact, my only criticism of him is that he doesn't get forward enough and with enough purpose

Shaw and Depay, given time, would forge a partnership as good as Becks and Neville IMO.

As for martial being on the left at the moment, I believe he will end up as a ST once we sort out our wingers
