(Cue the bears with their obvious responses)
What is actually wrong with Celtic fans? There are a number of things that we insist on that no other fan bases seem to care about. Why? Are we wrong, or is everyone else wrong?
For example:
- We insist that any manager plays a 442. A 442, not even a popular or modern formation. We became famous for our 424, sweeping defensive football out of Europe, yet we insist on 442. (I have no problem playing that formation, IF our manager deems it to be the best for us. But I would never insist.
- We insist that any candidate for the managers job have some experience of Celtic, as a player for a fan. This immediately rules out over 90% of potential candidates. What are the odds that the best man for the job is left after discounting everyone? Some fan bases are adamant that they would rather habe a manager with no baggage.
- we insist that a manager appoints his own assistants. Why? It doesn't happen in most other walks of life, or at most of the top clubs in Europe. Why would you turn recruitment over to a guy just in the door?
- we insist that we want a poacher. Even though the one time in the last decade when we didn't have a poacher, we actually scored the most total goals as a team. Every other top club in Europe has realised that a poacher is a waste of a jersey when he is not scoring, and that you need harder working forwards and goals from all over the team if you want to be successful.
Any other examples?
Any top manager would be mental to come here
What is wrong with us?

Sorry to post and run guys
But it's good to see that you all agree with me in my absence
POV, you made some good points, but I have to pull you up on one thing:
"I think Deila is the first manager we've had where his assistants were chosen for him. Strachan has Gary Pendrey, Lennon had Mjallby and Thomson, MON had John Robertson and Steve Walford."
Every time we have appointed a manager with no experience of British Football we have provided him with an assistant who has local knowledge.
Wim - Murdo
Dr Jo - Black
Ronny - JC
I don't know why it's only become an issue now?
Can you think of any top club in England who have taken a manager with no experience of British Football and nit provided him with a local assistant?

Cheers Mick.
Sorry-been out and just seen this-no, off the top of my head I can't. Apologies-your OP didn't say anything about foreign managers appointing their own assistant, and I don't think there's really been any foreign coaches mentioned so far. I thought at the time it wasn't a bad idea, but I thought Deila would have been allowed to have brought with him his own coaching team as well.
I don't know any other walk of life that it happens in, but I also don't think that's relevant.

The only thing wrong is that we lack a manager who knows how to motivate and how to organise.. Hopefully that will be fixed
