Moussa Sissoko

Some of the press linking him to us today. With the pending arrival of granit xhaka is their any substance to this rumour?

I quite like Sissoko as a player. On his day, the guy can be unplayable. He is also that powerhouse type of player we don't have.

He can play in Mf as well as out on the wings.

Would you take a punt on him?

I've seen a lot of Sissoko and he doesn't belong at Arsenal. He's a mid-table player who has his days when his athleticism looks immense but he's woefully inconsistent - even by Ramsey's standards of woeful inconsistency. Can be very lazy too which gets me boiling more than any other player shortcomings.

Wijnaldum doesn't convince me either. Far too many games where you wonder if he's actually on the pitch.

Sissoko would be just like Ramsey. Best suited to playing box-to-box in a 433.

You've got Xhaka by the way, pics leaked from Twitter.

The thing is is he any good?

I think it's hard to judge any Newcastle players.

Nobody ever looks consistent for them, but many of the players they sign have been consistent at other clubs.

Cabella for example was one of the best in France yet joined them and did nothing.

Wijnaldum one of the best in Holland, joins them and has a half season.

Mitrovic one of the best in Belgium, joins them and is dross.

There has been something rotten to the core at that club.

I thought Sissoko looked good in the last World Cup for France. There is definitely a good player in there and if Liverpool signed him I wouldn't be gutted.

Dutch, French and Belgium leagues are hardly good judging ground for the PL.

Players who are amongst the best in those leagues should be better than what they have shown for Newcastle.

Not really. Far easier to look good in the Belgium league while playing for the best team than it is in the PL.

For around £8 Mil surely he's worth a punt with the usual suspects always injured.

You cannot fill the squad up with players who are 'worth a punt' - unless you continue to ignore the real needs.

DJ is right. Sissokho might have made sense if we hadn't bought Elneny, but I don't see the point.

Focus on other areas.
