How good is Xhaka really?

Rarely watch the Bundesliga and when I do, it's always Dortmund or Bayern. I certainly haven't watched Gladbach and know absolutely nothing about Xhaka. He's coming here at a pretty steep price, so is he going to be worth it and will he fit? What would he offer that none of our other CM's can't (a position where injuries permitting, we have arguably the best range of options in the league)? Who do you think he'd work best with as a CM partnership? Hope he won't add to our physioroom problems. Some hyped Bundesliga imports in recent years (Kagawa, Son, Podolski etc) have struggled a tad, so I'm hoping it's not another case of glamourizing a fancy foreign name who may be no better than what we already have. Bit like the links with a fairly mediocre Morata for huge money winds me up.

Will be interesting looking at our options in midfield now. We now have Xhaka, Coq, Elneny, Santi, Ramsey and Wilshere competing for 2 spots in CM. Even with Arteta, Rosicky (and I hope to god, Flamini) departing, that should see us with the deepest midfield options in the league - fitness permitting. Ramsey, Cazorla and Wilshere will probably have spells in attacking midfield, but for the most part, I'd expect at least 3 of those players (often 4) on the bench for most matchdays. It's good to conduct business this early.

Now for that striker.........

The money from the £5.14bn TV deal comes in this year and every club knows it. Transfer prices are only going to keep going up.

A question that can only be answered by performance

Apart from a couple of occasions season before last, I've only ever seen BM on the Bundesliga highlights show. Even then the player I've kept my eye out for was, ex-academy player, Havard Nordtveit.

He'll be playing for West Ham next season.

Presumably as DM.

The position he mainly played for 'Gladbach...

People are worried about his temper and red card but they don't take into consideration that it was in another league.
If Spurs didn't have anyone send off against Chelsea, then I think Xhaka will be just fine in the premier league.

Dunno, Frenchy. Look at what our players manage to get sent off for - don't think we are comparable with Spurs!

Away from home against top teams a midfield 5 of

Carzola Xhaka
Ramsey Ozil Wilshere

behind a Sanchez/new CF would be a threat to even the top teams.

Enough energy , ball winning and retention ability amongst those 5.

I would describe his play as a more attacking alonso

Time will tell but saw a thing over the weekend which had him in the Bundesliga team of the season based on ratings. Not overly reliable but can't be terrible news.
