All I've seen and heard since the game is deflection.
Rangers and our fans deflecting from our pathetic performance by talking about hibs wannabe casuals.
Celtic fans deflecting from hibs behaviour by getting ridiculously hot and bothered about a statement. Condemning the statement and acting more sickened by it than the trouble.
I actually agree with most of the statement and a lot of Celtic fans echoed it before it came out.
I just don't think it should have came from the club.
It also benefits them to deflect with this rather than admit we didn't turn up to the Scottish cup final.
I dread a day of reading everyone crying over the Rangers statement and the terrible things it'll cause, while laughing about the trouble and the players that were/weren't attacked.
While on our side we'll get all hot and bothered about some teenage jakeballs flying pash jabs instead of admitting our side are still miles away from where we want to be.
Still, the positive is we're way ahead of schedule. Some have posted about Warburton not doing as well a deila...
Not just the wins and points... Our football this season has been a joy and can be built on. We are way ahead of where I dreamed we'd be 12 months ago.
I'm still sickened at the performance though.

A time to deflect

I'm not a fan of the statement.
Agree with the points but it reads like we did it and posted it on here, not the club. I've no doubt it was meant to look like that, being in touch with the fans and all that pash.
I'd have preferred a, "we were not at our best today but had we been offered this season 12 months ago we would have snatched it. This shows there is work to do and the manager and board are committed to seeing the job through. Congratulations to hibs, they were the better side. In regards to the trouble at full time we will help with a full investigation but would have appreciated some direct contact from hibs. We won't be commenting further until the investigation is completed. "
Or words to that effect. Bit of class but reminding fans we've had a good year.

Dennis no one wants us to return to the days we acted like the masons and allowed everyone to take the pash.
Doesn't mean we should howl at the moon.

I have yet to read this statement as have been avoiding media yesterday while recovering from the hangover.
I'm I better off not seeing it?

Cheers Smid
I did have you down as playing but I was double checking that everyone could make it in case anything had changed from people saying they were playing in the 6 weeks since.
The article is up to date with times, place etc and I'll keep it up to date as I go on.

A club the size of Rangers should never be seen to be lashing out at anyone and demanding anything.
They should be outwardly seen as being well above this nonsense.

aybe we should put a screen grab of English and co comments and then saying "you decide" on the big screens at ibrox next home game
worked for celtic with the thugs and thieves sharticle"
No you're quite right.
Drag yourselves down to that level if that's what you feel is best.
I just happen to disagree because I look at the bigger picture.
Tell me; what exactly has been achieved by this statement? Did it just make some Rangers fans feel all warm and cosy about it all because Rangers stood up to everyone and put up the barriers?
Or did it just look like what it was? A poorly worded attack on anyone and everyone when the dust hasn't even settled and there hasn't been a single working day for the powers that be to sit down and sift through everything before taking any action. Because that's exactly what it was. Nothing more. Nothing has been achieved whatsoever and many will just see it as a deflection.
Rangers have no right to demand anything right now. And they have no right to offer a blanket excuse for anyone involved in that thuggery whether they be provoked or not.
What are they going to do? Represent any accused in court and pay their legal bills?
No. They should at least wait until any enquiry has been completed. If they think the findings are unfair or unjustified then by all means fight their corner.
This statement only makes many turn against your club even more and as I've said Rangers as a professional organisation should be seen to rise above all of this and let the system run its course.
