Championship v Premiership

It wasn't too long ago on here we were being told that the Championship is as good a standard as the Premiership and, in the case of the top 3 in the Championship, they were all capable of not only holding their own but pushing for top 6 and Europe.

Can we finally put this myth to bed now?

Two years in a row we've seen one of the top 3 from the Championship come up against the second worst team in the Premiership and they've been utterly smashed. It hasn't even been a contest. Motherwell, who were terrible last year, absolutely hammered Rangers while a dreadful Killie side, a side who were hammered 5-1 and 4-2 by the worst United side in a generation, pummelled Falkirk on Sunday.

Are those who spoke up the Championship throughout the season just finished happy to reflect and concede that the Championship was hugely overrated and the teams in it simply aren't that good?

It's certainly given me hope for next season that this dreadful United side, with a little bit of work under the new manager can be very competitive in the league.

Falkirk on the other hand were as sharp as they could be because of their competitive games and that was reflected in their 1-0 win. Once Killie got back up to speed they swatted them aside with ease

Falkirk looked facked in the game at rugby park it certainly looked like the break did killie a lot of good

Ivan do you reckon the play offs are fair for both clubs?

Falkirk got a 9 day break ahead of the play off semi final.

They should have been fresh as daisies.

I believe playing the 2nd game at home gives the Premiership club the advantage.

Apart from that, I think they are as fair as you can make them in a two-legged tie.

We shall see if you still have that attitude next season if you are fortunate to get into the play offs

Bookmark away.

I'm comfortable with the set up of the play-offs.

Ivan, any idea what season ticket sales are sitting at just now?

Absolutely no idea border. I'm not sure exactly how big an impact the issues with the chairman will have - I suspect not as significant as some might believe because ultimately we do have a fairly loyal support.

Fingers crossed.
