The poison within...

I hope Massimo Cellino reads Oliver Kay's damning Times article. The truth is, though, that even if he were to read it, it probably wouldn't ring any bells with him. He is a dangerously deluded man who shouldn't ever have been allowed anywhere near this club - but in truth, we can only say that with hindsight. The club was in a dire and demoralised state before he came, thanks to several previous owners, and for a while he did actually bring fresh hope and enthusiasm among fans, largely due to his stated passion for the club and a bit of cash to splash. Fast forward a couple of years and half a dozen managers later: Leeds are as far away as ever from the likelihood of promotion - possibly further; attendances are dwindling (even Cellino's new money-back incentive isn't working), and possibly worst of all is that even to the outside world, it's become apparent we've reached a new low in our proud history. Hence our inability to attract mediocre managers who should by rights be clambering to be part of our club. Massimo Cellino is now past being a joke; he is a poison that is affecting the morale of our fans, our players, and no doubt the staff at Elland Road. We can only pray that there is someone around the corner to take Leeds United off his hands. This is a great club with massive potential but it's currently a very sick one. We need reviving before it's too late.

dont know why this article is being lauded by some.

Its not saying anything that many of our fans have been saying for months if not years now.

Batty
The fans aren't totally powerless. They can and are voting with their feet.
It took us years collectively to see through Bates, but the only reason he sold the club was that it was going start and cost him money, as there was nothing left to sell to shore up the running costs.

So that means we shouldn't carry on saying it?

I hold my hands up and admit that I was all for Cellino - for no better reason than he was something new. When Bates went, I thought that GFH had to be better, but they weren't. And when GFH sold, I reasoned that Cellino couldn't make a worse fist of it, but he has. And when someone else appears on the horizon, I'll probably welcome them with open arms, because the optimistic side of me thinks that when owners take over this club, they do so because they love it for what it was, what it is and what it can be again, and that they want to make it great again - not because they want to line their own pockets and feed their massive egos. I'm hopelessly deluded, but isn't that what 95 per cent of football fans are anyway?

Despite public comments to the contrary and on here I understand he ants to sell but only at the right price. I suspect public demonstrations against him will expedite matters and force him to reevaluate what that price might be.

Yes some of us thought he'd be better. Quite why we need constant reminding of same baffles me.

You're right, what I'm saying is nothing new, but I do it for the same reason we all post on here - to get it off my chest.

I wasn't having a pop!! I was just saying that I understand that he wants to sell despite some saying he doesn't. Indeed someone close to him at the time he bought the club thought a deal had already been agreed.....

I was anti Bates anti GFH and hoped that MC would be different. Sadly wrong!

I think a lot of us fall into that category. Always hoping its going to be better. Sadly, our situation has only attracted shysters from Bates onwards. Maybe we need to bottom out in admin again, to wipe out the debt so that a proper, not half assed re-building job can begin, or will we still be bemoaning the same situation in another 10 years!
