If monk comes in, it's only a good appointment if there is money for good players and Cellino needs to back the manager.
Maybe am letting my guard down, but am just alittle bit optimistic that why might do some decent business this summer.
First thing should be signing cook up long term, not interested in let's sell him and reinvest balls. No let's sign quailty to play with him !!!!!!!!
Don't know about anyone else but missing going down every other week and watching garbage
Cellino isn't selling anytime soon.

I like this Barattieri bloke.
Did he play a big part in landing Monk?

Milky, algarve I agree.
I have nothing against monk but you've got to be an idiot to sign for Cellino bearing in mind what a high profile to sser he is.
In 6 months time people will feel sorry for mink being shafted. Why? No one stick gun to his head to take this job he did it of his own volition.

Jonty
But with Cellino being such an idiot, it like a lose situation because if it goes wrong everyone blames cellino

True about "in 6 months time, we should not feel sorry for him". By the same token, why judge him for taking it?
He's a bright, young manager, why not take on the
challenge? As LIW said, if it goes belly up, MC gets
the blame.

Batty, because no one has had a successful career since Cellino sacked them from Leeds.

To be fair Jonty the idiots he's employed it wasn't likely
Been a few managers who wait for the perfect job and it never comes
Out of work with no money coming in, it's a risk a lot of people would take

Jonty, I do see your point. Didn't state that very well
in the previous post. For me, Monk feels different from the other hires. I may be on the positive outlook side of things, but I really think this bloke could be good.

Batty, we think this every time (except for hock).
If Cellino thought he was the real McCoy he'd had given him more than a year and s big budget.
A year says to players that chairman has no real faith that coach will work out.
That was you have the belluscis of this world causing problems as they know the thompsons and Evans will soon be gone.
At a Sheffield weds or Brighton monk MIGHT be good but with very little managerial experience and nothing like the pit that is the championship and pressure of promotion the odds are not in his favour.

Monk accepted the contract. End of.
Cellino won't give long term contracts to managers but will give a one year rolling contract.
Seems spot on to me.
