Mooted the idea of Arsenal going for Sadio and converting him into a striker yesterday and got shot down in the main.
The market is not flush with strikers right now. The top top top quality ones are spoken for and even if available will go to clubs with deeper pockets.
What does Vardy bring that Mane cannot match played upfront in a team like Arsenal.
Very keen to see this unheard-of striker we all expect Arsene to unveil.
Mane

I read it I just don't understand why someone would think signing Mane and converting him into a striker is a better option than signing a striker.

Just sign an actual striker. We've tried the square pegs in round holes thing for long enough.

Where are these strikers you speak of?:
Do you really want to negotiate with Real Madrid for unproven Morata?
Even City are balking at the price quoted for PEA by Dortmund.
Lukaku wont leave Everton for less than £45 Million. PSG are interested.
Lewansdoski wont leave Bayern.
Have you seen the release figure on Higuain-a 29 year old?
So where are these strikers that are good enough and fit Arsenal's budget?;there is a reason we elected for Vardy in the first place!

Lacazette?

Because of FSG being able to pay in dollars, the fee won't seem like £40m thanks to brexit

Lacazette?

There is a reason he is not in the french squad and I don't think Wenger rates him; especially not for the 52 Million euros reported.

Icardi? I haven't seen much of him but he's young and has an impressive record.

Me neither, but i wouldnt mind him if he is good enough to hit the ground running.
And that was the thinking behind activating Vardy's Clause; knows the league, scores goals and fits the budget.

OP has a hard on for inconsistent players who are mostly average. First Coutinho, now Mane. Mane would be a completely pointless signing

Coutinho average? Follow another sports bats. I would recommend Rugby or cricket since you are down under.
