Time for a split

It has been an historic past few days.
The common man has spoken and what's done is done. The pointless arguments over what did happen and what shouldn't have doesn't make a difference now.

But the aftermath between the two traditional main political parties shows the reality of the political landscape today. The Conservative Party and the Labour Party cannot represent everyone within their political ideology.
The bitterness being displayed publicly provides no respectability for today's MP's. No wonder we are so split as a nation and as an electorate feel slightly unrepresented.

It is time they both spilt. Labour have two extremes. The centre left and the far left. The tories have two extremes as well, the remainers and the brexitiers.

What we were are learning since Thursdays vote is that these two former heavyweights are now outdated and past their sell by date as the public row becomes more apparent.
Some aren't even towing party lines and this cross over suggests we could have a new dawn in political parties.

I think smaller parties with coalition governments could be the lasting legacy of this euro referendum. Otherwise we will continue to have this constant bickering by a privilege few who think we, the majority don't know a thing.

Something to ponder......

UKIP have fulfilled their purpose so surely the majority of those voters will revert back to the Tories?
There are major splits in the Labour Party and the Lib Dems are an irrelevant these days.

It looks like a majority Conservative government for the foreseeable future.

It kinda does because a referendum is not binding and more people realise it maybe better to remain, article 50 might not be activated

Where that does or doesn't will be dependant upon the make up of our political landscape

For years the politicians have been lying and not listening to the peoples fears and worries. They needed a shock and they got one. Whether that shock will send us in freefall or not is quite irrelevant to some.

I feel it is a pity that the politicians let the country go this far. Still today, 3 days after the vote, politicians are not getting to the possibilities without wild scaremongering and throwing toys out of tne pram.

Like i suggested, the current politcal mainstream partiesparties surely do not represent current political views. People are split over many things and ideologies cross over a lot.

There's a large proportion of tories that are centre right and do not want anything to do with the right of the party, hence the immediate push to find a suitable rival for boris. They could potentially split too

Hmm possibly. I don't see a split in the Tory party tbh. They are in government, they have a responsibility to remain stable during this period. They'll have one right and one centre-right candidate for PM and then get on with it imo.

True but stranger things have happened. Probably unlikely for now but maybe a real possibility within the next 5 yrs
