Says that's him done with international football after losing his 4th final with Argentina. Shame for football if he does go through with it, anyone think he's spitting the dummy out?
Talk of a few of the Argentine team retiring now.. Aguero, Di Maria, Lavezzi, Higuain, Messi and I'm sure I read a couple more. If so, it'll leave Argentina with a huge rebuild on their hands.

Yes he has to do everything but he knows if Portugal don't win a tournament nobody will blame him because the rest of the team are crap. Winning is a bonus. For Argentina winning is expected and if they don't it's always Messi's fault. People say crazy stuffs like Messi doesn't try hard enough as he is not a true Argentine etc. The pressure and expectation placed on Messi at international tournaments are unreasonably high.

He played quite well. But as I said he is not just expected to turn up, he's expected to win everything for Argentina on his own (aka Maradona). That unhealthy expectation can crush him mentally.
