Palace agree €38 million fee for Batshuayi

Now I don't know a thing about the guy and have never seen him play but it just shows how mad English football has gone that a club like Crystal Palace (all due respect) can spend that on one player.

Good for Palace. Hopefully more of this from the so called smaller clubs will see a far more competitive league. End of the 'Big 4?'

Would be some signing.

It was only a bid, the player himself has said he wants to go to a team playing in the CL next season.

His agent is also demanding the player gets £100,000 per week, yet he is not first choice for France & might struggle to adapt to the old

Might be down to being Belgian...

from the bits and bobs I've seen of him he looks a talent, reminds me a bit of Saha... can't fault Palaces ambition, but I think he'll be looking a more high profile club

It shows that sides like Stoke,Palace,Southampton,Wba etc now have considerable spending power and are closing the gap for sure on the top teams. A few top players (like Payet) brought in at these clubs can provide success for sure. Look at Leicester.
Btw Leicester are strengthening quite well if they can keep their big three too. I expect them to be top 8 ned season

Absolute fecking disgrace.

English football should be closed down with immediate effect, it is a fecking shat show when clubs like Palace can do this sort of thing.

Quote: ''Steve Mandanda is a target that’s much more attainable for Palace, even with the new TV money – he’s OM’s starting keeper and Hugo’s primary backup on the French national team. He’s also probably Crystal Palace’s primary target. A bid for Batshuayi is more or less a swing for the fences here and represents a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” situation. A Palace bid for Michy is more a statement of intent from Marseille than an actual serious bid for the young striker: it “sets the market” for Batshuayi and indicates that if any club bids £32m for him, it’s probably going to be accepted.

In exchange, OM is likely to give a bit of a deal to Palace in their pursuit of Mandanda, with the hopes that at the end of the day they’ll come out a little bit ahead. So there’s probably very little chance that Michy Batshuayi will end up at Palace next year, if what Malyon is saying is correct. Pardew, you sneaky little devil.''

Dont think of the money based on what it was worth back then. 30mil of today is like 15mil of 5 years ago. So in essence they've signed a 15-20mil player. THe value of the money is different now.
