Silver Lining

Sturridge went away with the England team and didn't get injured!

That's almost more of a shock than losing to Iceland. And it's about the only positive I can take.

Watching Sturridge and Sterling combine with Kane last night brought it home just how good Suarez was...

I think anyone who watched that knows now sturrdige will NOT play wide. he just didn't want to

Why play him wide anyway? It's ridiculous.

He's got to get home yet and that will undoubtedly involve some injury in juicing activities like.

A pip in the eye?

Studge was shoved out wide to accommodate Kane, who everyone in the country, apart from Hodgson and Spurs fans, knew shouldn't have been on the pitch.

I am so full of footballing hatred towards Hodgson

it was a ridiculous setup..

Sturridge didnt want to be wide, and i can understand why, hes englands best striker!

Lallana was dropped despite being the player getting in to the best positions in the whole tournament.

Slovakia were the most defensive team we played, they parked the bus, clyne made their left back non-existant (they bought a second on to help him) and henderson created more chances in that game than anyone else did in the tournament.. Yet they didnt get a look in!!!

Rooney was shoehorned in, Alli didn't get dropped even though he did little, we might as well play without centre backs, and Joe Hart showed why his man city place is under threat.

Kane was abject for the whole tournament, Vardy did very little beside his tap in, we had no adequate replacement for Dier when he finally had a bad game.

The formation was wrong, the tactics were wrong, i can only assume sterling got back in by doing a little "shimmy" for hodgson after training at the weekend

Roy should have never been given the job,
He should have been sacked after a poor showing at the last euros,
He should have had the awareness to resign after the worst world cup showing we have ever had

But you know Neuchatel Xamax and all that!

For once, I completely agree with you Insert

It was a youngish side playing in their first major tournament together...Hodge is gone now so things are already looking up.

Big time players fail to perform again for England. No matter the club, nobody came away with any credit from all of this.

Waddle was right, they are not a team.....just a collection of players

Silver lining? Well at least we can take comfort from the fact that Hart managed to make Mignolet look like a world class keeper in comparison, and that is not easy to do.
