Dream League - Week 11 Results

Blyth Spartans 2-1 Wellington Phoenix
Scorers:
Blyth – Ibrahimovic (no assist), Carroll (de Sciglio)
Wellington – Rashford (Can)
MOTM: De Rossi

Two teams who I expected to be much nearer to the top of the table. Both had slow starts to the season, and neither has been since able to get any real momentum going.

This was a very close call – home advantage the key. Tino will be delighted to get the 3 points and I have always been a fan of a) how he posts such a variation of tactics on a week to week basis and b) how whilst a lot of us go for younger players he clearly has a thingy for the experience – I really do like it mate but I’d like to see an appearance of Gail Platt’s baps in there at some point.

I do feel for what may be a frustrated Tbag who has a darn fine team and is amongst the best tactics composers in the league, but has suffered more than his fair share of bad luck – I had you down as one of the favourites for the title and I don’t think you’ve ever had less slots (apart from form/home advantage) than your rivals – but this has been a bit of a rotter for you, but chin up as I think you can turn things around for the cup.

Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski 1-1 Pumas de UNAM

Scorers:
Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski: Campbell (Free Kick)
Pumas: Williams (Assensio)
MOTM: Essien

Now this result makes things potentially interesting. Dyskobolia since moving away from their bus parking tactics have proven to be a little thorn in the side of the Pumas.

A massive comparison in terms of form, and a lack of subs from the homeside made this a game that the Pumas would have expected to win. Puma’s depth off the bench showed as they came close to a late winner – but these old rivals will have to settle for a point each.

Forres Mechanics 2-1 SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden
Scorers: Forres – Embolo (Ginter), Batshuayi (Ginter)
Cambuur: Martinez (Jota)
MOTM: Ginter

Forres haven’t quite followed through on their early season form, but last week’s point away at Juventus was noted as possibly the start of a return to form – and they quickly follow that up against a Cambuur team who have excelled in result weeks. Make no bones about it this is a vital win for the Scots.

Juventus 3-2 Tatung Football Club
Scorers:
Juve: Sane (Hysaj), Aduritz (Coman), Coman (No assist)
Tatung: Mahrez (no assist), Mahrez (Hojbjerg)
MOTM: Mahrez

I… sorry.. the randomiser seems to love injuring Juventus players but in their credit they have great depth. Leiva has made a fantastic start at Tatung and coming off the back of a win + Juve’s sticky form of late this was always going to be a crucial fixture.

Btw.. whatever Leiva has been feeding Mahrez for breakfast – I’ll have some!

2 very strong sides today, Fud has done a great job strengthening the spin of his side over recent weeks, as strong as any through the middle while Fishguard have been in top form and are gunning for the title.

the match itself reflected the strength of both sides in being a bit of a stalemate in the first half but in the second half it really came to light with 3 goals and home advantage just making sure Fishguard were on the winning side this time, but Fud's boys were no pushovers.
