We won't lose to Liverpool. As annoyed as I am about our lack of signings, i'd rather not sign anyone than sign 6 midtable players that aren't good enough.

Have you forgotten how we got tonked 8 - 2 by UTD and then after that Wenger went and bought a shed load of dross? (The only one of which that was any good was Arteta ) Forgive me for not sharing your optimism.

a foxes voice, Mahrez as a professional footballer will want to play to get sharp for the new season. I remember Samir Nasri playing for us against Liverpool in August 2011 just days before his transfer to Man City was confirmed and to be fair to him he played alright that day. So just because Mahrez played today it doesn't mean anything.

Its not optimism. I want Wenger gone and I want us to sign the right players. Mahrez plus a top striker would be the right players. Signing 6 midtable players like Liverpool would not be of any more use than signing no one.

Arsenal fans would rather choke on their loyalty to the club than let their team play before a half empty stadium.

Club loyalty is a great thing.
Unconditional club loyalty can breed contempt by management for the fans!
