Squad as it stands, here's what I think
we'd all agree is our strongest XI playing
in Monk's preferred 4-2-3-1:
GK: Green
Back 4: Berardi/Bartley/Cooper/Charlie
Def Mids: Big Dave/Murphy
Wingers: Dallas/Roofe
#10: Mowatt
Striker: Wood
Could argue Sol starts at CB instead of Bartley
or Cooper. But, I believe that's our current
strongest XI.
Agree/disagree?
Best XI

Leeds? I remember them.

Berardi and Coops both injured (no back up), Taylor possibly on way out of ER (ditto). Defence a major worry, not too concerned up front but that defence concerns me greatly.

Hope we go 4-1-3-2 or 4-4-2 at home with Antonsson up front with Wood.
Otherwise yeah that's probably our strongest lineup atm, maybe Grimes for Murphy for the dead ball delivery threat.
Thought yesterday showed how much we need a quality centre back, Bartley at fault for the first goal with a poor clearance, Bamba was all over the place with some shocking distribution.

As a first 11, it's okay. Looks a slight improvement on last season.
But such a thread bare squad. Need to bring in a proper CM, another CB, cover at leftback, and a top quality winger IMO - I like Dallas, but there are better.

It's not an improvement on a first 11 that had cook and Byram in it.

Probably agree, although Roofe as a number 10 so Sacko can play on the wing so we have more pace

Antonssoon for Mowatt

Nomad, you might be right about Grimes over Murphy.
Good shout. And I also like us playing 4-1-3-2. Ant alongside Wood. Big Dave in D mid.

I'm assuming Atalanta game we'll see Monk's
season starting XI.

More worringly at this stage is does Monk know his best 11...........i doubt it from observations so far
