Mahrez & Lacazette

I'd say a player like Mahrez is needed especially looking at our poor wide options minus Sanchez.

Walcott, Oxlade and Campbell werehardly pulling up trees although Iwobi does look good but still very raw. We shouldn't be relying on him as first choice. As backup he would still get loads of games with us anyway.

Mahrez would simply be more of the same, IMO.

A talented ball-holding player who thrives when surrounded by pacy teammates.

We'd still end up walking the ball into the net without any sort of pace on the wings or up in front.

I recently got slated by DJ and another of the AKBs for stating that we are a team that lacks balance and have too much deadwood (players who have been given opportunities and not cut it or players who miss 5 months every season due to injury). I honestly think for the first time that we won't make top 4. Then watch ozil and Sanchez leave.

I wouldnt call the squad imbalanced.

Our medical staff is a bit of a joke at the moment. This forces us to stock the squad up with versatile multipurpose players.

It's not like we're playing Ospina on the wing, is it?

We could replace the whole squad and still end up with crocked players within 6 months.

I would be satisfied but we still need a CB. None of our CBs are good enough apart from Kos and even that is questionable as he was average last season. Lacazette and Mahrez were not at the Euros so why are we waiting until the end of July to make a move for them? Smells like BS to me, genuinely believe we are finished with the new signings this summer

Mahrez is now being linked with Chelsea. there's a screenshot going around of the adidas website selling Mahrez Chelsea kits. The same thing happened with Mkhitaran before joining Utd

If Chelsea are involved then it's over for us.

Even without cl football they have extremely efficient negotiators who will get the deal done very quickly

Even if we are to sign Mahrez, wenger will wait until the 31st of Aug to bring the price down.

His approach to transfers is a complete joke

Is it about being efficient or not really having the limitations of what they are willing to pay for players?

Don't get me wrong, I think on the positions we really need, like a striker and CB we should be decisive and just do the deal but you can't really compare us and Chelsea.

When the FFP was around, both Chelsea and Man city were more hesitant in the transfer market, they hardly bought anyone.
