Does anybody else think something is going on regards his future ?? .. I have heard rumours the chairman says he is definitely staying but the guy hasn't played a game this pre-season which is odd to say the least. The pictures i have seen on the website have been of him training with the rest of the squad throughout the summer, im just surprised he hasn't even played 20 mins here or there .. Anyone else agree ??

He had a long layoff. The word from Villa is that RDM is going easy on bringing him back because he doesn't want to risk things. I always thought he'd stay partly because it's likely to be well into the season before he's ready to make a serious contribution.
Thinking of players with similar long layoffs, Benteke wasn't playing until well into the season and took several weeks before he started to look his old self. Likewise N'zogbia, who never really got back to form for us.
He's a 100% player so this is probably wise. Think it also means we're likely to keep both Bennett and Cissokho.
