Are United the only club able to spend that money realistically without having to sell players or have they been taken as desperate mugs?
For the purpose of this article, assume that there is an ideal player in the world who any big club in the world really wanted to sign. How much would each of the big clubs (you know who they are) be willing/able to spend on that player? Also assume that for the purpose of this article you are not allowed to generate funds from selling players in order to sign this ideal player.
Who would be willing to spend an enormous amount of money on this ideal player and how much would be their highest bid?
