Steam controller

Are they worth it? I'm considering buying one of these, can't get much cheaper than about £40 though which isn't exactly peanuts

Already got a controller adaptor and an old Xbox controller hooked up to the computer, works for all the newer releases but doesn't work for most of the older games though. I grew up with consoles, only upgraded to PC about 18 months ago and even now I don't like keyboard and mouse controls for real time games

Games like the old Hitman for instance which I grew up playing and which I'm finding facking impossible with a keyboard and mouse

Are the steam controllers actually worth it or am I better off trying to adjust myself to using keyboard and mouse?

You can get battery powered ones now

Keyboard & mouse has a pretty steep learning curve, but in the long term it's worth it, especially with shooters

I would look for some little programs you can get that can add controller support to these older games. Check out xpadder. Though if it doesn't support the 360 pad I don't think the steam one will be any different, though I could be wrong....

The Steam controller is actually decent. Buttons can be mapped out. There are also community setups if you wish to use what others are using. Takes a while to get used to but definitely a worthwhile purchase imo.
