More questions for Monk

1) Why after an effective first half which saw Leeds play some decent football were Mowatt and Sacko swapped over. Sacko had linked up well with Ayling in the first half and threatened several times. We came out a completely different side and this move was a bad error. If it isnt broken it does not need fixing - why try and over complicate football management?

2) Leeds need to man up according to Monk. Why then did he play a 17-year kid in centre midfield alongside a Pablo Hernandez who was wandering all over the field leaving massive holes in the pocket in front of our back four. Why did he continue to keep Viera on the pitch when he was struggling so badly gifting the opposition the ball over and over again.

3) Leeds need to man up........then why bring another boy in Calvin Philips onto the pitch who has never had an impressive game in a senior shirt.

4) Leeds need to man up.........where is Murphy & Diagouraga today then? Whilst i admit Dave has started poorly he was made to play centre back all pre-season - i wonder why he isnt up to speed for the midfield battle?

5) Why was Mowatt selected on the left-wing? People question Taylors performance but if you do not have a natural wide player in front of a full-back then Taylors natural ball out of defence disappears. He often had nothing in front of him as Mowatt kept drifting inside. A blind man can see than Mowatts only position on a football field should be of that in behind two attackers.

5) Why after bringing Chris Wood off did Leeds start to cross loads of balls into the box for Roofe and Antonsson yet when Wood was on the pitch they were trying intricate football more suited to quicker players up top?

6) Why is there a lack of discipline in the side. We were out own worst enemy in killing the game with daft needless free-kicks given away in the last 30 minutes causing a stop-start match playing into Birminghams hands? What was Monks instructions to the team to try and remain calm and patient in winning the ball back?

7) Why did we let Steve Evans go?

Dacourt was an immense passer and tackler and his movement was class. You just can't compare anything except Delph to to him, nevermind current squad.

This division requires players and mangers with proper know how. We're miles off.

Harrogate we are miles off.

Roofe
Ant
Hernandez
Viera (in some situations)
Sako

All have shown moments quality this season, the rest...

Green - standard stuff for a gk. Did well mostly.

Taylor - can't be bothered. Let him go so we can get someone else in early

Bamba and Bartley - mistakes came in as they tired.

Ayling - great start, but tired badly. Couldn't move for last 10.

Vieira - lots of energy, typical youthful mistakes. Needs to learn quickly. Can't complain.

Hernandez - not got pace for wing play, centre mid playmaker perfect for him. But needs to play more simply with the players round him, and not try to take others on in tight situations. Got very tired but they did realise they had to close him down eventually

Mowatt - played well, surprised at sub.

Sacko - excellent first half, but disappeared second half

Antonnson - excellent, all game.

Wood - looked much better with a partner. Always had awful touch, but caused problems and good links often.

Overall? Great first half, got very tired. Eddie Gray tactics when defending corners don't work. Optimistic we will not be relegated. Can't see us higher than lower mid table though without new right back, striker and midfielder

Monk has said books need to be balanced, expect to see some senior players mentioned exit.

We've relied on conveyor belt of youth players to sell but hard to sell any of current New crop unless they have any experience.

I'd rather loan them out than throw them in deep end with us.

I said when Monk joined Leeds that he was an idiot for working for Cellino, monk will leave Leeds as damaged goods.

Quite surprised at the amount of flak both Hernandez and Mowatt have received, and indeed Viera.

Hernandez and Mowatt were the source of most of the exciting stuff in the first half an hour. Unfortunately, Mowatt clearly doesn't like playing on the wing and drifted inside too much, whilst Hernandez wandered all over, leaving gaps which meant that they got through us all too easily. Just as with their first goal.

Vera wanted the ball all the time and was pretty busy, actively trying to get involved. Agreed, he made the wrong decision on occasions, but I'd rather he was trying to involve himself than going missing.

In the second half, Hernandez visibly tired very quickly and suddenly Viera - who regularly looked for Hernandez to pass to - didn't have an outlet, cue more mistakes.

To be fair, not sure what happened to Mowatt in the second half, but his game fell.

As for Taylor, he mind really does look elsewhere. There was a moment in the first half where he'd been just inside their half and we'd lost the ball to their right-back (i.e. Charlie's side) and he turned around to jog back to position - whilst they had the ball intending to start an attack, he had his back to them and wasn't even watching play! Fair enough if it's out for a throw-in but it was still live! He only started running when he started their right-winger starting to run. The whole episode seemed to show a lack of focus and determination.

And Wood still seems so far off a £3M striker, I'm a little lost for words.

Player's playing out off position getting shot at is unfair, the position should have a player playing it that is meant for that position, its happened so many times at this club it makes you wonder if the manacoach is really doing his job!..

Oh well, if its him or not the axe will always have his name written on it, so it don't really matter!..

Hernandez was playing in his best position - centre mid playmaker - but needed the youth legs around him to make all the running.

Mowatt was in a good position for his skills - side of midfield. That player does not have to be a winger, and it does not negate that player moving more towards the centre if the play requires it. If our full backs are meant to be going forward (and being able to get back) i nthe same way the best teams do, I have no issue with it. I didnl;t feel he was out of position but had a really good game first half, like most of our guys. Imo, it was the teamwork that failed second half, possibly due to 120 mins on Wednesday
