Charlie

"Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 16m16 minutes ago
Charlie Taylor says his future is in his agent's hands now
but is glad to give 100% to #Lufc whilst he is here."

Was hoping Charlie would see how things played
out here and then decide in January whether or not
to ask for a transfer.

Seems like Charlie's giving veto power to his agent.
Which probably means his agent's still shopping
him this window. That tells me Charlie's not fully
committed to LUFC despite the "100% whilst he's here"
part of the quote.

One foot out the door.

Cheers mont

And I agree. That was my hope. I thought maybe,
once the team started clicking (yes I was optimistic
they would), Charlie would have a change of heart
and stay. At the worst, he'd give it until January.

These comments right after the game suggest
he's going to try while he's here, but that won't
be for much longer, if his agent sorts it out.

Isn't Pulis a big fan of Charlie's? And it was West
Brom that were his rumoured suitors, right?

Wonder if Charlie's agent's hands were clenched
in Pulis' trying to work this transfer behind closed
doors?

Think some of the criticism of Taylor is a bit harsh - whilst accepting that he's not looked great in the the first few games. Glad to hear some suggest it was better today.

Remember that he's been at the club since he was a junior and has grown up around Byram, Mowatt, Cook et al.

And I think, generally, we're most loyal to people, not to things or the intangible idea of the 'club'. As fans t's different: our loyalty to the club far outweighs that to the players, but then we don't know the players personally.

I would guess his loyalty is - or was - to those team-mates with whom he's played the longest. And, of course, to Lucy Ward and Neil Redfern.

If his relationship with Ward and Redfern was close - and that seems highly possible, given the age he was when he first started at the club - the manner of their leaving will have a very sour taste in his mouth. I wonder how much loyalty he does feel for the club any more.

If I was in his position, I'd struggle to feel anything other than disguised antipathy towards Cellino.

Perhaps he just feels more loyalty to Ward, Redfern, Byram and Cook than he does for Cellino and the board.

He was given his first team chance in the Cellino era. All of his teammates of that squad have all gone more or less. The only consistent relationship he has had was with the fans that backed him every week and rated him highly.

Validity to what everyone has written here.

Mythical thought is that we need to just let it play out.

Calm down and march on together!

We don't know what he has instructed his agent to do.

It might be he's said either get me a decent deal here or get me another deal somewhere else.

Maybe the agent is actually trying to do what Charlie has intructed him to do?

The club have said he's not for sale. If that's the case then offer him a deal that says we want you to stay.

He will be sold by the end of the window I expect.

Thought it was a poor comment to come out with. Anyway we all know he wants out, we need a good quality replacement as well, someone who is experienced at this level or higher.

Its all well dragging yet another player down, I'll bet Cellino loves it when he see's it!..

We don't know the exact reasons for him wanting out, for those off you that don't think he does, he loves this club, but as its been played out so many times before and is being repeated more times than a bbc blockbuster, you can bet it makes life very very hard for him to want to stay!..

Two people can make it work but they have to agree with each other and when you are the one that the club are meant to want, then the club should reward you in a way that you should be rewarded!..

Did he not get player off the year for this club?..

Well, that should be rewarded, lets not forget, we have someone that don't have a thread off respect in his dna, and we're waiting for him to reward someone for services to his club!..

Player's leave clubs all the time, but how many clubs label so many player's as ours does as trouble because they couldn't get a deal showing them what they are worth?..

This isn't just Taylor!..
