However, today is a day of two major steps in the right direction, for the last 2 days Bird and Bird have had a data room open with a team of completion lawyers trying to push a deal to close, there is a consortium in place, with a name well known to most businessmen in gods own county, and a significant investor backing the deal. From what I understand this is a game changer, and if it goes through will change the club for the better.
There is no Chinese involvement.
the second step forward is expect a statement from GFHC very soon, which will lift the lid on some dealings with KWB and Davie boy.

The thing is - if the Chinese really want us they will get us.
The Italian led group is worth about 6billion plus.
The group I know about has one guy worth more than 28billion on his own.
It all depends on how far they will go to secure one of the few fallen giants still available.

My clients were in talks to buy the club less than three months ago. Local businessmen with significant funds behind them. Not, however, custodians of a war chest that would truly put us amongst the footballing elite.

In the main yes but I'm not sure that they have continued that interest as it stands today. There is, however, another would-be investor not far away...
