Leeds Player Ratings

What a great day out yesterday, can honestly say that was the most enjoyable away performance I have witnessed in years!

Even though I sunk a few beers before and after the match here are my player ratings.

GREEN - 7 - Made a few saves that kept us in it at 0-0 and was very steady.

Ayling - 7 - Looks solid when asked to defend which helps the center backs out, but is also a threat going forward. Good performance again.

Cooper - 7 - Solid from him but his passing sometimes went astray.

Bartley - 7 - Like Cooper a solid display, can pick a pass out from the back.

Taylor - 7 - Best performance from him this season, though he did get caught out once when they striker ran in behind him.

SACKO - 9 - MOTM for me, ran at their left back and had him for breakfast! Brilliant all round performance from him. Lets hope to see more of that as he is a very exciting player with the ball at his feet.

Bridcutt - 8 - First game back and added much needed steel into the center of our midfield which helped out both our defence and the young lad Vieira. Good to have him back.

Vieira - 7 - A very good solid all round game from the young lad, had more of a licence to get forward due to Bridcutt sitting in the middle. Great prospect.

Mowatt - 7 - Not the first coach to play him out on the left so they must see that he can do a job out there. And he did exactly that, a threat going forward and helped Taylor out at times defending, solid.

Wood - 8 - His best game for us this season, held it up well and laid it of well for our runners in behind. Took his goal well.

Antonsson - 7 - I cant see how people can`t like this lad, does not stop running or wanting the ball. Got his goal with a good header.

SUBS

Roofe - 7 - His paced helped us break away when Wednesday were looking to equalize. A perfect cross for the 2nd goal on the counter attack.

Phillips - Only on for a few mins.

Duke - Nearly scored when he came on.

Coach

MONK - 8 - Got his formation and game plan spot on today. 4 games into the job and the team seems to be improving.

With the new lad Pontus coming in and the team settling down and getting to know each other hopefully we can continue to improve.

Forest away next in the league, reckon we can do that lot.

good to know that we played well & looked solid.....as for forest got to keep assambolanga quiet, they leaked a few goals yesterday....i hope he keeps things as they are for that game, no tinkering.

Agree with all these

Sacko was fantastic, love seeing wingers that look to run at the full back every time. He was getting into great positions, crossing was poor a few times but he kept it up and one of them stuck. Could be a big player us. I was annoyed when I saw mowatt lining up on the left but he gave the team balance and had a good game.

Overall great team performance.

Can't argue with the comments, really enjoyable game, Green made a mistake in the 1st minute v QPR and since then he's been ok for me can't see why people turned on him, Bridcutt makes a difference and he will get better as he was finding the pace a bit tough at times yesterday, Sacko gives us something different, he will frustrate at times but if he can do it in winter we will have a decent player on our hands,
I think if everyone leaves Monk to get on with it then he will turn things around but we know that may not be the case, plenty to look forward to and hope we kick on, still think we need another striker to add competition, no coincidence I think that the centre backs had there best game yesterday,

Forest have 2 injuries with him being one. He is also want away like Taylor and they concede.

Two quick observations from watching the extended highlights:
1) Taylor started the move that lead to the first goal,

2) Viera seems to be very similar to Delph at a young age. Good ball control/first touch, good incisive passes, gets stuck in but will concede a lot of unnecessary free kicks and cards.

If I may add a late rating:

20/10 for the Channel 5 pundits after the highlights for bringing to light the utter ridiculousness of the notion that Monk is fighting to avoid the sack after just 3 games.

I hardly ever see Cellino called out on his methods by anyone other than ourselves so it was really refreshing to see.
