Matty Taylor from Bristol Rovers signed a new 4yr I think it was contract can't see us signing him.

Doesn't work like that AZA.

Let's say we did get £7m for Taylor. There is no way it would be an outright payment. It would be x amount up from and the rest in installments based on appearances, etc.

With whatever money we did get as a lump sum towards transfers, you'd then have to consider transfer fee, agent fee, wages and signing on fee. It's not as black and white as people think. So if we were to get a £7m lump sum then you can't just spend that on transfer fees.

Also generally speaking for what it's worth, a creative midfielder and a striker at £2m each doesn't get you that much anymore in terms of quality to improve your team.

Also can't see us making too many more deals now unless we see a couple move on - ie Murphy and Diagouraga.

Sell Taylor £7m

Buy Henry -£1.5m (LB)
Buy Lockyer -£1m (CB)
Buy Creative Mid -£2m
Buy Striker - £2m

Yes we'd be a bit down as we're paying out more in Wages but really, it's not that difficult. It's more than depressing how year after year we see what's needed and how year after year we are continually flucked over.

£7,000,000 for Taylor?

What planet are you on?

We'd get about 3/4 for Taylor plus add ons based on performance/appearances. If and it is an if, Vydra rekindles his Watford form then he'd be a cracking signing. Ive seen him for reading and for Czech a few times over the last season or so and he wouldn't make our bench, but at Watford he was too good at this level.

No one pays £7million for a Championship left back. Cresswell went for £3.7million to West Ham, and he's a better player.

We'd be lucky to get £2million +

If I'm a Prem club, not sure I'd want him.
On his most recent showings at least.

His best bet at the move I think he's after
is to go ballons out for us until December.
That way his play and possible injuries
make him an attractive signing.

Or, the club does really well and he decides
to stuff it and stay with us full time.

Here's hoping.

Thing is could we try and get better or offer him a big contract? Are we as fans wanting to hold on to him because of him coming from the acadamy or because of his ability?

I thnk Charlie's a good player and at the moment he's worth what anyone will pay, end of season it's a tribunal.
