Assombalonga limped off against Wigan last weekend shortly after his sixth-minute opener in the thrilling 4-3 win but may be fit for Saturday's game, with Forest boss Philippe Montanier confirming on Thursday that Assombalonga had not suffered a tear.
Montanier made nine changes at Millwall in the midweek EFL Cup win and many of those who started against Wigan are expected to return to the team.
Dan Fox could be fit after he too came off injured against the Latics while goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic, signed this week, could be added to the squad.

Isn't dealing with Burke something most Championship defences are used to. Keep building him up all you like but if there wasn't something wrong with him he'd be playing for better teams than Forest by now.

After the Wednesday game people were having that Bridcutt was the answer to all our problems. The change between last game and this surely sums up his last season for us very concisely.

We shouldn't be conceding soft goals like today, but we should have played better first half too and this 442 can't and won't work every week, because teams pack the midfield. Need to play well in 2/3 different systems.

Agree with Trevor, I was surprised at how poor Leeds were today. Wood had little or no support. The two lads in centre mid got given the run around. Great free kick but little else to speak of.

The only positive I can see is that out of the three away games we've had most would have settled for three points and after our start we were all fearing zero from the last two.
However the negatives keep popping up and so do false dawns.
It's early days but we will be talking about a must win game next up. Not because it's a derby but because a loss will surely cement us is the bottom three and Monk will be gone.
Best transfer this window will be ownership.
