Charlton Athletic v Bolton Wanderers

Another trip to London today. Bolton top of the league are defending the only 100% record in the football league against probably the best team Bolton will have faced this season 5th place Charlton managed by Russell Slade. Last year a championship fixture, 10 years ago a premier league fixture. Sigh. Team news. Pratley and.dervite still out. The injury list added to over the last week as max Clayton prepares for knee surgery and Zach Clough picked up a hamstring inquiry against Fleetwood putting a big hole in the permitted 23 man professional squad. Bolton are down to one senior keeper in Howard after the Ben Amos left to join Cardiff on loan. 18 year old will jaaskelainen will step up to the bench. A bit of good news proctor should be fit after not being risked v Fleetwood.

I had thoughts on this last week not mentioned it to date but we've tried all sorts since the big man left and failed every time.
SKD used to do Tai Chi its got to worth seeking his opinion on it and how he kept his fitness and didn't suffer an injury every fortnight. We do need to look and seek outside help bring people in to look at what's wrong somewhere and correct it.

Somethings got to happen to change the situation or we'll have to remove the embargo so we can keep replacing players Ken said it would be removed soon after PP started work didn't he.

Seems to be the same players injured all the time. Doesn't sound good for davies thats his third major knee injury. Will be very difficult for him to come back from that. Pratley seems to pick up an impact injury that puts him out for a few weeks, clough seems injured more often than not and clayton is permanently injured. Won't be long before wheater pulls a hammy and is out for a few weeks. Put the kids out in the micky mouse cup. If bolton get fined so be it as can't risk another injury in a meaningless match.

Just play midweek by the rules save the fine just no running a gently jog here and there and only half hearted pretends to tackle the goalkeeper I'd send out in slippers a with a pipe wearing a traditional cap.

Morning All

You know yesterdays subs bench may have been a crafty move. They count towards the number of senior players we must play for the midweek game. Do those on the bench in the potty cup also count towards the requirements ? We could put injured or those that need a rest and anyone obviously not in plaster on the bench for this to make up the numbers couldn't we.
There's now't in the rules to say the 1st team squad players you must field have to be fit and run around like idiots and risk injury.

We'd at least have a chance of making a decent news story Marc does need all the help he can get to wean him off his video cam he's becoming addicted to it

He did but it's looking like porky pies. Everyone knows we're short on funds. He seems to be in in the driving seat so he also knows. There is only so much the EFL will let a club do without cash.

Would now normally be a 2 week international break giving the players the chance to recover from knocks. No such luxury at this level, a game on Tuesday in the Micky mouse cup and if youre taking about going up a must win game next Saturday v Southend. Worried by November/December and the fa cup 1st and 2nd round could be struggling to put a team out and the promotion hopes in tatters.

It's all juggling and rebuilding this skint in the lower leagues until you hit lucky.
We need to end up with a cheap squad made up of players who we can keep together and don't need to sell to pay the bills come transfer windows until we are in a higher league.
We've still got two windows to go before we can be nearing that though.
