well they don't win 1 day tournaments.,, failed once more.

Yes disappointing today....however will console myself if we win the main trophy that counts for anything

The t20 is the main trophy now, the county championship that thing which is watched by one man and his dog.

Don't kid yourself....ask any PLAYER what trophy they would prefer to win! I was on holiday a year ago and bumped into Ryan Sidebottom in Puerto Pollensa. He told me that in his opinion and in the opinion of most of the players the Championship was the one they wanted. The T20 is a slap about game, there is no finesse or particular ability other than to smash the ball as far as you can.

Don't kid yourself . No one is interested in the county championship anymore. All the crowds and tv coverage at county level in this country is t20. That and the sky money is keeping the game going. Sidebottom may say that about the county championship but it don't pay the bills.

Money isn't everything Benny. If it was then International cricket itself would be consigned to the dustbin. Yes, money is needed for the Championship to exist but without it you wouldn't get good Test players. For me what IS needed in the Championship is a refresh of the County game - whether that means increased advertising, more televised county games, different rules (i.e. maybe 100 over maximum, more points for wins, more money to the winners?) and then maybe the Championship will thrive. For other countries the longer form works and works well, it just needs to be worked at more

Thanks to lancs... Yorkshire still have a chance at the championship.. 3 teams going into the last match of the season all with a realistic chance of winning.

Yeah it's very tense....I think actually Somerset could do it if the Middx Yorks game is a draw
