Transfer Review for the Teams I expect

to be fighting for the top 6 places. Ranked from worst to best.

8th - Everton: Bolasie (28M), Williams (12M), Gueye (7.1), Stekelenberg (5M)

They've lost Stones but replaced him with Williams who is a proven Premier League CB. Bolasie at 28 million is steep. He's extremely skillful but rarely effective. Gueye will break up play well enough but Stekelenberg isn't great. Overall not a fantastic transfer window considering how much money they now have.

Total spend: 52 million. Score: 5/10

7th - Liverpool: Mane (36M), Karius (4.7M), Matip (Free), Klavan (5M), Wijnaldum (25M), Manninger (Free)

In Mane they've bought an electric player, I've been championing him for a while now and really wanted him at United but overall they haven't done enough, Wijnaldum is o.k but they didn't need him, Matip on a free is good business but still not enough done in defence and goalkeeper for me. Gonna be a case you score two, we'll try and score three for them this season. Manninger? WTF.

Total spend: 60 million. Score 5.5/10

6th - Spurs: Jansen (18.6M), Wanyama (11M), N'Koudou (11M), Sissoko (30M)

They've definitely strengthened their squad but not significantly strengthened their first team. Kane needed back up and looks a bit worn out but how Jansen does remains to be seen. Wanyama is a steal at 11 million, N'Koudou? Sissoko is amazing 1/5 games. If they can get him to his best 3/5 games then he'll be worth 30 million.

Total spend: 71 million. Score: 6/10

5th - Leicester: Mendy (13M), Musa (16M), Kaputska(7.5M), Slimani (30M)

They've broken their transfer record three times in the same window. Slimani is an excellent acquisition for them from the little I've seen of him. Kante is a huge loss but Mendy has been brought in to stem the pain of him leaving but the big thing for them is that they managed to keep Vardy and Mahrez. Expect them to be fighting for top 4 this season but might come short.

Total Spend: 66.5 million. Score: 7/10

Joint 3rd - Arsenal: Xhaka (34M), Holding (2M), Perez (17M), Mustafi (35M), Asano (3M)

Until two days ago this was an appalling transfer window for Arsenal and I still don't get why he left it so late to fix such blatant problems but in fairness he has strengthened his main problems. Xhaka looked like a liability on his debut cameo but he's a very classy player and will come good. They've bought a decent CB to partner Kochienly but have neglected to buy top quality for their main problem area. Whilst Perez looks good, that top striker they need still aludes them.

Total spend: 91 million. Total score: 7.5/10

Joint 3rd - Chelsea: Alonso (23M), Batshuayi (33M), Kante (32M), Luiz (30M)

Let's start with Kante, this guy is a phenomenal breaker of play. His energy is unreal and I'd have loved him for the defensive midfield role at United. Batshuayi looks a decent talent and has started well so far. Not sure Alono is good enough for a starting berth and Luiz is just a bizarre signing. Seemed like a last resort after throwing bids around Europe for any CB.

Total Spend: 118 million. Score 7.5/10

2nd - City: Gundogan (21M), Nolito (14M), Sane (37M), Jesus (27M), Stones (50M), Bravo (17M), Moreno (5M)

Definitely investment in the future here from City, which was wise considering their aging squad. Gundogan on form is a phenomenal player, whether he will be fit long enough to reach those heights remains to be seen but worth the risk at 21 million. I really like Nolito, very astute signing. Sane and Jesus represent two very exciting prospects for the future and they got rid of dandruff boy and replaced him with a better keeper. Stones for 50M is absurd currently but he has great potential.

Total spend: 171 million. Score: 8.5/10

1st - United: Pogba (89M), The Zlatan (Free), Bailly (30M), Mkhitaryan (26M)

I'm over the moon with our business. Jose identified the main problem areas and fixed them. 89 million pounds is a lot of money but it was always gonna cost a ridiculous amount to bring one of the best midfielders in the word back home. He will only get better too. Zlatan on a free is an absolute masterstroke. He's already scored 4 goals and will be a great mentor for the next up and coming star, Rashford. Bailly is a monster and I love what I've seen from him so far. Mkhitaryan at 26 million is probably the bargain of the summer. He's such a classy player, can't wait to see more of him. If I was being greedy I'd have loved to see us follow up on our interest in Mane, meaning we could have pushed Micky in the middle and dropped Rooney. Would have been an 11 out of 10 if we'd have done that.

Total spend: 145 million. Score: 9/10

What do the rest of you think? How would you rank them and how would you score them.

Any chance of a multi board admin?

I might be wrong Mamba, I'm just judging it on how I see it. How about you out up your predictions and we'll see who's closer.

Well tbh most teams have overspent on one player or another so even if they have all had terrible windows one team who overspent on a player must have had the best (or least worst if you prefer) transfer window.

So United could have despite Pogba being overpriced, or City could have despite Stones being overpriced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you apply half of Pogba's fee to Ibra (who was free...) two players at £40m-ish each of that quality isn't bad at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To entertain the idea for a second I'd probably put Ibra at around £15M-£20M and maybe chuck at extra £10M-£15M onto Henrik...

I wouldn't say our summer business worked out too bad value for money wise overall.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? You signed 3 fewer players than City, yet only spent about 25m less... And one of your signings was 'free'...

And none of them were teenagers at other club's academies.

Quality > Quantity.

Otherwise we should just give it to Middlesbrough who brought in 12 players for a lot less than we spent let alone what you spent.
