Asia 11 vs Rest Of The World 11

There have actually been a few occasions where there have been one off games like this. I haven't seen one for a very long time though. Just curious to see what everyones line ups would be for the current players. You must include at least 1 player from each Test Cricket nation (so Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Ireland etc) don't have to be included and you can only have a maximum of 4 players from 1 team. I have decided to do it for both Test and ODI.

Asia Test 11:
Ajinkya Rahane
Tamim Iqbal
Virat Kohli
Younis Khan
Misbah Ul Haq (Capt)
Dinesh Chandimal (Wkt)
Ravichandran Ashwin
Rangana Herath
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Mohammad Amir
Yasir Shah

Rest of World Test 11:
Alastair Cook
Kane Williamson
Hashim Amla
Joe Root
Steve Smith (capt)
Marlon Samules
AB De Villiers (wkt)
Dale Steyn
Nathan Lyon
Trent Boult
James Anderson

Asia ODI 11:
Rohit Sharma
Tamim Iqbal
Virat Kohli
Tillekeratne Dilshan
Shakib Al Hasan
Ms Dhoni (capt and wkt)
Shahid Afridi
Ravichandran Ashwin
Mohammad Amir
Mashrafe Mortaza
Lasith Malinga

Rest of the World ODI 11:
Martin Guptil
David Warner
Chris Gayle
Joe Root
AB De Villiers (capt)
Jos Butler (wkt)
James Faulkner
Mitchell Starc
Dale Steyn
Sunil Narine
Trent Boult

Rest of the world team looks a lot stronger. Asia don't seem to have world class pace bowlers these days, bowlers that have a lot of potential, whereas Rest Of the World have a very strong bowling line up and batting line up. Asia do have a lot of spin options though which could help on certain wickets. Out of all the Asian sides India are the only strong team in ODI so it was very difficult to pick players from the other teams. I would have had 6 Indian batsmen in the team if I could have.

Intrigued to know what sort of teams everyone else would pick.

I just shown this to one of my friends who isn't a user on here. He moaned because I didn't put Broad in the test team and that I only had 2 England players in the ODI team. He also said Younis Khan shouldn't be on the Asia team due to current form

From memory, Afirdi wasn't great shakes with the ball the last few matches he played. Don't care about entertaining the crowd, just winning matches.

Please no more "Dhobi". He is past his prime long time ago and is kinda liability in the team. His tactics are hurting big time and he doesn't have any more strength to hit big n finish easy games!

Dhoni is a one day specialist though in my eyes and still has what it takes.

Arsenal,

I respect ur opinion bro but lot of Indian fans are too frustrated with Dhobi, Ishant chutiya, Dhawan phuddu n even Nohit Sharma.. We got talent and it's about time we move on. One thing I really like about England or Aussies that they get rid of dead weight very soon unlike our emotional tool selectors!

I just feel maybe some people are a bit harsh on Dhoni. Dhawan was class few years back but seems to be a little out of nick these days and the same with Sharma too. Murali Vijay looks a good player to me. Neither of our teams seem to have class pace bowlers these days. For Pakistan I would say Mohamad Amir is good and has all the potential, who knows where his career would be if it weren't for the spot fixing. The problem with Pakistan though so many players always have the potential but don't always kick on or the selectors are just silly.

No matter what, Pak test bowling is still ten times better than us. You can see the recent test results and how India performed last time. You may not get Wasim, Waqar every decade but still you are able to get decent pace bowlers. Now India with bloody idiot BCCI selectors keep on giving chances to worst players like that Ishy G**ndoo! However, we can try to give chances to other bowlers but no as we have lot of regional politics too. For me country comes first, I don't care which part or religion they belong as winning the game is most important to me. Also I don't like IPL as it has hurt our ODI/T20 game more than help and foreign players got better in our conditions. Just my 2cents and I fully understand if folks differ from me.

No Mustafizur Rahman in the Asian ODI team?

I kind of forgot about Mustafizur Rahman but looking back he was very good in the IPL with his depth bowling and looking at his ODI stats for Bangladesh they are very good so far. So he is a decent shout.
