Poch, Klopp, Pep

For me these three are the best managers in the league by quite a distance. Just take the likes of Lallana, Sterling, Kane etc. The way they develop their natural talents is so impressive.

All three are young, progressive and aggressive managers. It's great to see these three at the top, and although they all obviously spend big, they are developing young talented English players. Long may it continue

Actually devon, I don't expect Liverpool to beat any team.

I would hope they could win but past experience has taught me that expecting a win quite often leads to disappointment.

But you don't expect to beat us at home.

No. You are one of the better teams and in good form. very close games over the past couple season. Well capable of beating you, but not expecting to. Same as the likes of Arsenal, United, City.

I'd say i would expect us to beat everyone at home except the above 4 and probably Chelsea. As much as I'd like us to be so confident of beating these teams, they are generally very evenly matched an can go either way.

fair play to ya!

Despite years of disappointment, I remain an optimist.

You can 'expect' to beat a certain group of teams, whilst accepting that you're not always going to manage it. The way you put it earlier suggests that this point of view means that anyone who thinks this way aren't serious top four contenders.

You're making too big a deal about this 'expecting' thing. Every top six team will expect to beat a bottom six side before a game has kicked off. Knowing and acknowledging that you won't always beat them doesn't make you any less of a serious contender to finish top four.

You seem confused T1.

You said i am in dreamland for expect to beat promoted sides, and now you are saying every top 6 team expects to beat a bottom 6 team.

Go and have a lie down son You've had a shocker here

That's it, conveniently leave out my explanations of my points. All you've done is selectively quote other people to suit yourself.

Crack on if it makes you feel good

"Its not like you lost all your "easy games " last season, just the occasional one when you were expected to win. It will take time to prove more conclusively that you've moved on from this pattern (at least in my mind)"

Is any team challenging for top 4 expected to win at the likes of Burnley? It's a tough league were the so called smaller sides take points off those above them.

Add to that teams that have been newly promoted tend to get a scalp in the first few games of the season. Think Burnley did the same a couple of seasons ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Gotta think that any serious top 4 contender would expect to win home and away at a newly promoted team.

I expected us to beat Boro at the weekend, even without 4 key players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, but you're living in a fantasy world if you think this is the case. Obviously, you 'expect' to win these games, but if you're not on your game, they're very easy to lose. I guarentee that whoever gets top four will not get full points against all promoted/bottom 6 teams.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

even taking your full response T1 (above) you contradict yourself.

I'm in "fantasy world " for expecting to win [vs newly promoted teams]

But then....."obviously you expect to win these games...."

You're all over the place...and fail to understand the concept of expectations and how it may differ from reality (results).

Reality must inform expectations if they are to be reasonable, and Spurs reality vs promoted teams is one of 37 out of 39 points in 2 and a bit seasons under Poch

I can't envisage a home game against Spurs where I wouldn't expect us to win.

Of course we won't always do it, but I'd always expect it at home.

Our recent record vs you is not good. We had a decent spell from 09-13 but its been a bit miserable since
