How can we have a go at countries like Russia over corruption if we take a weak stance over what Sam Alladice has allegedly done.
We have seen journalists before catching football managers up to no good before, Sven and the fake sheik anyone.
Bryan Robsons damming dispatches program that caught him doing dodgy deals on club licensed property with shady Far East business men.
I'm not sure the British press can label others corrupt without looking within.
The fa should sack alladice if they want to have any moral high ground.
Credibility

He should be sacked for pure stupidity. He's on 3m a year, the job he's always wanted and risks it all for a 400k payment. Even worse, he fell for the old Middle Eastern businessman sting

The corruption being in the governing body itself is far worse than with individuals. Given that Allardyce repeatedly said that he'd need to check with the FA, I'm not convinced he will lose his job. A lot of it comes across as bravado.
The other thing is that with the free press, at least these kinds of things are exposed (albeit, I do think the Telegraph are very close to the line with this one).
For reasons of loss of credibility with the playing squad he could, I doubt it for corruption though.

I believe Leveson raised journalistic "dark arts” on a number of occasions. However nothing ever came of it.
Despite IPSO, the press are pretty much self-regulating, and have continued to operate “in the public interest”

And ultimately, I think that's right. There is some of this that I don't think is in the public interest though.

We're British, and we can't smell our do-do from up here on our soap box.
Don't forget, we civilised much of the know world...
...after we'd killed those who wouldn't conform.

As did the Romans

They did it with more style.

I believe during discussions SA said (on more than one occasion) that he would firstly need to seek permission from the FA. In that regard I feel he has shown some degree of diligence. But I suspect the Telegraph, (possibly anticipating a much greater ‘scoop’ ) decided to run the story anyway.
Whatever happens to SA, I firmly believe this sting was created solely to promote the Telegraph rather than any public interest.

BUNGS-for signing dodgy players-George Graham anyone?
personally, I was always suspicious of Fergerson for signing some very dodgy players for Utd-most of whom never played for them - Demba / Veron/ bellion/ kleberson/
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ferguson, Clough, Venables - all known to have taken bungs.
It shows the corruption in our game that Graham has been the only one charged - and that was probably because we wanted to sack him.

This.
The FA love to get on their high horse when others are at it yet lose their voice when it's going on here

Looks like he will get the sack. Even Sam is expecting it.

I don’t think the FA have many options.
In that if he is not sacked they’ll be under pressure to investigate third party ownership scams. The press (led by the Telegraph) will have motivation to do so.
If he is sacked I suspect most of the media spotlight would be on his successor, rather than opening a potential can of worms into third party ownership.

Just heard what Sam said...he was right about Hong son and told it how it is with third party. As far as I can see he wasn't actually involved in third party but explaining how it works.
On Seven all he did was go for a job interview without telling his bosses or more importantly the press. Thing we've all applied for jobs without telling our employers because shock horror we don't have too.
