What is confusing me about this, is if it is true………….
Why would you jeopardize the job you’ve always wanted? It just does not make any sense.
He must have thought after McClaren got the job and the high profile Manager plus Roy that got the job before him; and we’re led to believe the only other time he was in the running was 2006………….Why after finally landing the “Dream Job" would you put it at risk?
If the FA are going to stay with an English Manager, then I think as with Miss World, the first runner up is likely to step in.

The only outcome really.
As said previously, I would like Venables to be given it. However this is never ever going to happen.
If Bruce got it I would be saddened. Ditto the dishcloth Southgate. Ditto Pardew.
Redknapp's ship has sailed now, and no way the FA would touch him with yours after this.
Hoddle I would not be against, as you would hope he has matured and found a little humilty since his last spell.
Eddie Howe would be my realistic choice

Southgate could be good. He's been trained for the job so maybe. Howe is a good manager but it'd too early for him imo.

Won the Toulon tournament. More than most in recent years.
Lets see how he does. He knows the players and is very understated. Compare his personality to Gary Neville who was slagging the players on Sky and then expected respect in the setup.

free in the summer said in July he would consider it at the end of his contract..
Tactically astute, intelligent, crap at signings. oh wait that doesnt matter.... Statesman like and likely to help with overhauls of the FA, youth coaching, getting coaches qualified etc, Plays a decent style of football.
International management would play to all of his strengths and eliminate his stubborn weaknesses.
