That really couldn't have gone better for a game we needed to win away ahead of a big PL game. You might say it would have been better had we won by more but honestly, I think I prefer a result that doesn't let us get too ahead of ourselves before City with a scoreline that reflects going about our business quietly and efficiently without any unnecessary hype. Together with dominating possession and not overexerting ourselves chasing after the ball, no injuries, and important players already at home resting, it's the perfect night's work.
Slight let down was new man Janssen still reminding us of Soldado, but fellow new man N'Koudou's bright performance and Son continuing this form, made up for it.
Perfect result

With Janssen not looking any closer to scoring from open play, I'd question whether he should start against City. I suppose he has his hold up play even if it's been a bit overrated.
We just can't afford to be wasteful against City.

Has to start we need a presence up there to work off.

If all you need is a presence you could just have Onomah up there and he might come closer to getting a goal too.

I think we're being underestimated this season. We have a very good side, a rock solid defence with lots of attacking options. It's all "City this", "Liverpool that" and "Jose the other". And that's just the way I like it. I think we can keep going along nicely - racking up the points without hitting our best form whereas some other teams might be in danger of peaking too early. Not a lot of people talking about Arsenal either but I think they could be more dangerous this year than they have been for a while.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope you're right Ace. I wouldn't want to go too far in talking about how underrated we are, cause then you'd ultimately start overrating us, and with the City game yet to come, we'll soon see how good we are in comparison I guess. All I can hope is we give a decent account of ourselves.

Sort of kidding, but I do worry that Janssen may have chances in this game and not take them, and it costs us.
Or he gets off the mark finally. Fingers crossed.

Just work off him for 60 mins and see how it goes then do similar as today if not going well.
Janssen V Stones seems stacked in Janssen favour to me

Let's not get carried away, City will be the acid test.
We've had a kind set of fixtures for the first phase of PL games and have sterner tests ahead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure why some of our supporters think Spurs have had an easy fixture list, they haven't.
