Bristol City vs Forest

Hi Chaps

I thought I would drop by - how confident are you about Saturday?
Your team used to be our 'bogey' side until a couple of seasons ago.
We seem to have hit a run of form now - thrashing Fulham 4-0 at their place, then beating Leeds (another former bogey side for us) on Tuesday.
We have been extremely fortunate having Tammy Abraham (our loan signing from Chelsea) who is currently the league’s top scorer – although I do wonder if partly the reason we beat Leeds was because they concentrated Johansson on him and dropped their guard against our other players – allowing Pack through to score.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the facilities at the new revamped Ashton Gate - but not the game of course!!.

I check this forum out quite often, but I am one of very few City fans who ever post on it. Most of the old former BBC 606 crowd from Bristol City are on Not606, so feel free to pop over if you fancy some banter for old time’s sake (there is a Forest thread going on here):

I’m going for a 2-1 home win to us.

Good luck after Saturday.

I remember Moussi scoring an absolute rocket into the top corner one year. I also recall some great hyped when both were in League One.

£30 is cheaper than any of the home seats - unless you are a member (for which there is a subscription).
Prices have definitely gone up this season since the opening of the new stadium.

How much is Forest these days? I intend to pop up on 21st January for the return fixture.

Really Bear? I've been to a few Forest victories there in fairly recent years. I definitely remember a 3-1 or 3-2 during SoD or Billy's 2nd tenure. I was sitting in home end and had to disguise my celebration as annoyance. Remember a few draws there too with Moussi scoring a cracker.

We beat you at your place 1-0 in 2011/2012 season. That was our first victory over you in the league since 1974 - and even that was the only win since 1955 - hence I said in my thread that you were a 'bogey' of ours.

I seem to remember we beat you a few times in the Mickey Mouse cup whilst we were in L1 together though - but that isn't listed.

It's only since breaking our duck in 2011/2012 that we have done rather well in these fixtures.

I thought that was last season bcfcredandwhite, I remember hearing our commentators on local radio saying something about 1955. Time flies.

Can vary from £18 to £28 at the moment depending on the opposition and whether it is a weekend or midweek game.

I do recall a game about three years ago at the CG where Bristol City stole a 1-0 win with a penalty. It was the perfect smash and grab!

How is the refurb at Ashton Gate? Is it working for your fans-I.e not a mess like West Ham! Remember the old away end having zero leg room so suspect that is now improved?

That was us breaking our duck!
I have a feeling it was Chris Wood who scored - plays for Leeds now. We had him on loan back then.

It's really impressive and the sports bar boasts the biggest screen in Europe apparently.
There is a frustration though - we are supposed to be able to seat 29k now, but for some reason the health and safety gestapo have restricted it to 22k - which in only 3k more than the old Ashton Gate used to hold.
A lot of money spent to increase the capacity by 3k!!!!
Hopefully that will be resolved in time for the Prem next season

Sounded good on the radio although the PA was deafening. Deserved win for your boys in the end. You have upwards momentum so need to make the most of it. Forest could be in a full blown relegation battle by the time of the rematch in Jan! 😕
