Two questions for you

Hi city fans

I rarely visit other fans boards, and I'm certainly not here to gloat or wum - even though obviously I'm over the moon with yesterday's result...I thought we were just the better team on the day, it's the best we've been all season and you were below par.

But two things struck me:

1 - I admit to not knowing loads about the whole Yaya situation, but surely with De Bruyne out, it would have been ideal to have Yaya as an option? Is Pep freezing him out costing you (potentially at least...oviously you've only lost one game)?

2 - Does Gary Neville have a personal problem with Kolarov?! I did think Kolarov was very poor yesterday but Neville seemed obsessed with criticising him at every opportunity! Is there something more to it?

Anyway, we all move on, I still make you guys strong favourites for the title, but the game has made me more optimistic about our potential this season.

Yaya is far too slow and doesn't defend which is why he is not playing. Far too old to play Pep's style of football.

Sad business. It seemed like yesterday he was bossing the league, what a great player to watch in his prime! Hopefully he will go to the U.S. and enjoy a few more seasons. When such an athletic player loses that gift it's not easy to watch.

I honestly believe that if City had Walker and Rose in the Full Back positions, they would be near unstoppable (domestically anyway).

The change in us when Davies and Trippier play is marked. We still look tidy, but the aggresion and drive is muted.

Absolutely vital positions for teams that play our way.

The season Gerrard beat Yaya to the midfield spot in team of the year Yaya was unstoppable that's the player I will remember.

Happens to everyone, but he's been on the wane for almost 2 years now. Remember watching at the Emirates last season and he was abysmal, his late goal failing to paper over the cracks

He could have gone to NYC but he has killed any chance of that. The need to get some younger F/B's has been a subject most City fans have agreed on.

Im certain Pep would have watched us in Madrid last season and not thought about Yaya since.

FBs we have known needed attention for a while, all four seniors the wrong side of 30. As much as Kolarov reverted to type though yesterday, so did Otamendi, he is far from safe. RE Rose and Walker being good for were we want to be, Rose yes, Walker no way near.

Walker has been outstanding.

His biggest critics were a lot of Spurs fans (ditto Rose) but virtually all to a man (or woman) will tell you how consistently good he has been over the last 18mths or so

Id take the word of someone who watches him more regularly for sure, but Ive seen him quite a lot over that period and always found his final ball lacking. Maybe Ive just caught him on the off days..

The final ball is not great, admittedly, but the same can be said of Rose too. If either had that in their locker they would be perfect players

The other two fullbacks we have give us a great delivery, but to be honest pace, drive, and aggresion are far superior traits. We rarely cross to try and score anyway, and we have numerous players who can thread a ball through - it is more important our fullbacks get up the pitch, take players on, and create 2-on-1 (or better) overloads

Walker has been fantastic this season and most of last and has been as good as, if not better than Rose.
