Anyone know of any free downnloads or is it better to buy 1 such as McCaffee, Norton etc.
Had avg but ended up with malware which meant it going in for repair.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using windows 10 all you need is to turn on windows defender, anything else will just clog up your system.

Yeah, In my experience it does, I keep malwarebytes installed but not a live version, i just start it up to do the odd scan now and again.
I've had no problems, and I'm downloading all sorts of dodgy torrents.

I actually find most anti virus software is just pc clutter that slows your pc down. Be careful online and your pc will be fine without it
