You are belittling Strety for understanding and accepting that Jose 's [boring] style wins trophies.......you clearly (and understandably) enjoy the way LFC play bit you are not on any sort of high ground until that style delivers.....losing 2 cup finals is not a good argument for playing open football (not to mention that cup football is a different beast). Would you have preferred to have knicked both finals 1-0 after a dull affair? I bet you would.

Jose has won everythng. His 'Big Game' set-up last night was no surprise. It's how he rolls and its how he has won stuff You shouldnt dismiss it so easily.

You're making the massive mistake of comparing Jose's tactics at Chelsea with Jose's tactics at United. Completely different situations.

We still got to two cup finals playing our open style. We wouldn't have beaten Dortmund without it. It was disappointing losing the finals, but that's cup football for you. There's no way on earth Jose will get United to any finals playing the way he is at the moment.

As for Stretty, I don't know if you're too familiar with him or not. But he detests Liverpool, and only ever says anything negative. He's not capable of balanced debate, thus cannot be taken seriously.

I disagree. Last nights strategy reflected 3 things IMO:
1. That's Jose's style, do not lose the big games:
2. He's been in charge for what, 10 games? You cannot blame him for being even more defensive than usual given this team are in their infancy under him;
3. LFC, by contrast, have developed nicely under Klopp in his 12 months. he's had 3 windows and a pre season, they all seem to know the drill (ok, may be not so much last night) . They have been one of the form teams, and at home, vs big rivals you'd expect the opposition to batten down the hatches rather than open up to play the way LFC would prefer.

I am sure that as they develop they will show more attacking intent in such games, without ever being as open as LFC. Jose's last title saw them score freely and win loads, and build up a good lead, at least until the new year when they ditched the style for percentages.

I would suggest a 'hard to beat' approach is exactly what will get you to finals. Plenty have done it. Portugal won the Euros showing little attacking ambition.

Must have watched a very different game last night. For at least three-quarters of that match, there was nothing in it. And even the 20 or so minutes of Liverpool pressure was hardly a siege. Not sure why many are overplaying the defensiveness of Man U.

Must have watched a very different game last night. For at least three-quarters of that match, there was nothing in it. And even the 20 or so minutes of Liverpool pressure was hardly a siege. Not sure why many are overplaying the defensiveness of Man U.
