Top 4 this season

i know we're only 8 games in but for me the top 4 this season will be the 4 teams in there now however not necessarily in that order

Chelsea and manu just look clueless and slow and look to need another few transfer windows to get up to speed.

The 4 teams in there now play the most progressive and attacking football and look to be streets ahead of the rest.

Southampton, Everton, Manu, and Chelsea fighting over the europa places

Excuses, excuses.

Really? More just being realistic and not falling into the 'this year is our year' cliche rival fans like to trot out.

Spurs have only been in the EL/CL fairly recently. What's your excuse for not challenging without Europe? There's been plenty of opportunity.

We've not been in Europe since 7 years ago when Redknapp was manager in his second season. And that season we reached top 4. Our manager wasn't as good as yours is now though.

Challenging for the title when not in Europe.

We were never a real top team back then though. Not as big as Liverpool are seen as today by their fans and media. You were ahead of us in the odds for winning the title this season. Haven't checked but you probably still are.

If last night & the City game is United's approach against their rivals they won't challenge for top 4.
.......
We had a great record under LVG against our rivals but it didn't do him much good in the end. Anyway Liverpool were also bad last night and played not to lose as their was virtually no risk in their play at all.

We absoluetely battered Stoke City but got 1 point same as we did last night. Football is all about efficiency and we have been bad at that but only good thing is we are near the top in creating.

Why would I believe we are title challengers because the media say so? Our fans, you sure?

Oh and if you go off the bookies you're daft. They want your money.

We have only missed out on Europe 1 season in the last 11.

2009/10 as Spurtle says.

No reason for Liverpool or Spurs fans to write off a title bid, well within both clubs reach.

Personally I think Arsenal will push City closest, but I would not be surprised if it was either of us instead

I agree with Spurtle to be honest.

I know Cout doesn't want to fall into the trap of being laughed at for failing to win the title when a challenge was an expectation, but I do not see why we can't challenge for it.

We have a top manager, good players, a fairly big squad and a fairly small fixture list. Add all that to an excellent start to the season and it should add up to some kind of title challenge.

How far into the season that challenge will go we will see.

I think Man City are the only team capable of winning 8 games on the spin and leaving everyone else chasing shadows, but whether they will do it is another matter.

Spurs have proven they will be there or thereabouts again, as will Arsenal of course.

Right now those 4 sides look the most likely, but it can change. Chelsea have had a decent few weeks and like us have no Europe. Utd don't look very good but are still close enough at this stage.

Utd have spent billions, but their squad is still as bad as it was under Moyes. Mourinho is also past it, and that doesn't bode well

Think Chelsea will get it together, and should challenge for top 4.
Spurs City Liverpool and Arsenal would be my pick for top 4, and a title challenge.
Think it will be close right to the wire this season.
