PNE 3 - 1 Huddersfield Town

Evening all

This will be a copy and paste job from the most informative websites I can find. I'm not gonna apologise. I'd only find bits from these websites and re word them anyways

Town travel to the red rose city of Preston, hoping to get over last sundays disappointment. Preston started the season poorly, but they've had some decent results recently, last one being a 2-2 draw at Brighton.

Venue : Deepdale

Kick off : 19:45

Officials :

Referee: Jeremy Simpson
Linesmen: Shaun Hudson and Nick Hopton
Fourth Official: Peter Bankes

Match Day referee Simpson has officiated 12 games in 2016/17 with a return of 61 yellow cards and one red card.

Preston team news;

Preston striker Jermaine Beckford is unlikely to return from a hamstring injury in time to face his former club.

Marnick Vermijl and Aiden McGeady (both hamstring) are also set to miss out alongside John Welsh (calf), but Greg Cunningham is available after a ban.

Towns team news;

Winger Sean Scannell is in line to return for Huddersfield after time on the sidelines with a hip issue.

David Wagner has no fresh injury concerns, though forward Joe Lolley remains sidelined with a foot problem.

Match facts:

Preston haven't lost at Deepdale against the Terriers in all competitions since November 1969, winning eight and drawing six since then.

Town have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight league games at Deepdale, doing so in a 0-0 draw in April 2001 with Nico Vaesen recording the shutout.

Preston are unbeaten in their last four Championship games (W2 D2), which is their longest such run since February (five unbeaten).

Town are the only team in the Championship who are yet to concede more than one goal in a league game this season.

Only Brighton are riding a longer unbeaten streak than Preston in the Championship.

Town are one of three Championship teams yet drop points from a winning position this season (along with Ipswich and Leeds)

This will be a tough game, and as usual I'm not holding out much hope. We don't score enough goals and our only plan B is to throw Hefele on, which lets face it....... Isn't the best.

I'm going for a 2-1 home win, with town having 62% possession, 12 shots and 3 on target.

Safe journey to whoever is travelling over

Has anyone seen the keeper we bought from Oldham ? Surely he's worth a try... need to get back to winning ways on Saturday...

I would rest a few tomorrow tbh, not out of choice but necessity. Keep a strong bench still, but try get a bit of fatigue out of the legs and if you're going to do it, then there's no better time than playing at home against a side struggling for a bit of form. I respect Derby, they've got a great squad, but it's time to see what our squad is made of.

I'd go for something along the lines of....

.................Coleman................

Smith....Schindler...Hefele.....Lowe

.........Hogg(c).......Whitehead.........

Palmer...........Payne...........Scannell

..................Wells............................

Subs: Ward, Hudson, Holmes-Dennis, Mooy, Van la Parra, Bunn, Kachunga

Need Lolley and Billings back to full fitness soon to add to the depth, though the latter didn't help his cause by getting sent off for the U23s this week

Interesting how we all want to look at our goalkeeper, I would too, UTG, Derby have lots of fans on here so try & add them in too....

I dont fair agree with the tiredness thing after so few matches, more the players have taken their eye off the ball after the international break and read all the articles and got a little too big for their boots

I would replace ward because he,s a liability but not mooy as he had a lively second half at deepdale and would also like him to show butterfield how its done

I think derby will come and make a game of it and play the right way like us and it could be the best home game so far this season

My little lad has a party tomorrow so can't go.

Mrs Champers: Mini Champers has a party Saturday afternoon.

Champers: Oh, right. Town are at Home.

MC: He really wants to go to the party though.

Champers: No, that's fine.

MC: Won't hurt you missing one I guess. Not like you aren't still getting the money's worth out of your ticket.

Champers:

MC: What?

Champers:

MC: What's funny?

Champers: He's got the party, I'm spending my Saturday with Dave and the lads.

MC: You're gonna abandon us to go to the football. Really?

Champers:
