Hi all!
Skyrim is out (again) this Friday!
Who is getting the remastered version?
Who has played it before?
I have played it a few times and at first couldn't get into it, but I think I'm going to give it another go...

It certainly was the poorest

wasnt a poor game by any stretch but in comparison to the previous in series it was far more catered to the new players to the genre...was also too easy !

It was poor without mods. Just not good. Not good/deep enough as an rpg. Absolutely zero character. Boring storylines. Horrible scaling. Boring magic. Awful fighting (tbf always has been).
It's as if they found a middle where nothing really stands out but as long as there's a lot of that stuff then people are happy.

they dumbed down a lot of the aspects of the game that i really enjoyed (like weapon and armour deteriation) however the combat was by far in a way better (this was done to attract more casuals) the one on one combat is always where Elder Scrolls let itself down in the past (prob the only aspect of the previous games) but also the lore was dumbed down and less interesting but in comparison to other RPG's on console it was still prob the best at the time on the next gens console ..maybe...... certainly wasnt poor, cos i still enjoyed it and poured loads of hours into it (but didnt replay it like i had with the other elder scrolls)

the best mod that came out for Skyrim by far was the advanced AI combat mod..... that was a complete game changer on the PC, AI would actually use what they had that you would be weakest too and defended properly.

Played it on a promotional free weekend and didn't get it at all. FoV made me feel dizzy and the combat is torturous. You could also pick up every single item in the game, which is absolutely awful for me as I will just stay in the same room for half-an-hour picking everything up.
Probably helps if you get out of the starting area, but again I couldn't help but pick things up and then felt too dizzy to continue.

Great game, one of the best of all time imo. Universally recognised as one of the best games ever and I believe other than gta the only other game not made by nintendo in the top 15 selling of all time or something.

dont get me wrong i still pumped well over 100 hrs into Skyrim and enjoyed it, it was defo streamlined for the masses and more casuals and to those who hadnt played previous Elder Scrolls before with doubt. I preferred the attention to detail and lore provided, particularly Morrowind. I understand what and why they did what they did cos at the end of the day sales are no.1 priority but for depth and originality the earlier Elder Scrolls were better IMO.
