Week 11

Leicester went into this match in good form however they didn't have it all their way in the opening exchanges. Wolves kept firm and countered well with Walcott and Milik going close on a few occasions. RoF must of had a word with his side at half time as they came out all guns blazing after the break, Kroos linking with the forwards well and fluid football throughout, Costa grabbed the first after a fine solo run from Hazard, Vidal with a piledriver from range to put the game to bed late on.

Leicester 2-0 Wolves
Costa (Hazard)
Vidal (Sane)
MOTM – Kroos

A highly entertaining game, Chelsea dominated for large periods however it was Hull that took a shock lead when Goretzka robbed Busquets of possession and slipped a first time ball into the feet of Brandt who finished past De Gea with great composure. Chelsea soon equalised after though and it was much deserved as Bonucci met Sanchez’s corner with a thumping header into the roof of the net, thereafter Chelsea knocked and knocked but couldn’t find a winner, Hull manager Welshy celebrating in delight with the fans at the sound of the final whistle.

Hull 1-1 Chelsea
Brandt (Goretzka)
Bonucci (Sanchez)
MOTM - Goretzka

Man City v Liverpool

City stifled their opposition well, but failed to do anything to hurt a solid back four, Auba and Griezmann linked well up front causing all sorts of problems for Citys back 3, and it was those two who were involved in the goal, Rakitic played it wide in behind Hector, Auba ran onto it and drilled it in low where Griezmann got to it first and poked in for the only goal of the game

Man City 0 - 1 Liverpool
Griezmann (Aubameyang)
MOTM - Rakitic

Portsmouth v Man Utd

Utds form has been awful and with key players out today with injury they struggled, they did take the lead through Martinez after lovely work by Ozil, but once Portsmouth got to grips it was one way traffic, Lewandowski and Morata terrorising Rudiger and Evans, grabbing 3 goals between them, Gundogan setting up two. Utd huffed and puffed but the home side were in control for the majority of this game

Portsmouth 3 - 1 Man Utd
Lewandowksi x 2, Morata, (Gundogan x 2, Pjanic) - Martinez(Ozil)
MOTM - Gundogan

Birmingham v Newcastle

Birmingham on paper very attack minded, against Newcastle was this the best thing to do? It looked like it when they took the lead through a Jamie Vardy penalty after being brough down in the box, he buried it, but lapses in concentration by the home side allowed Suarez to grab a quick fire double after good work by Mane and Pjanic. Birmingham held out in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net unfortunately for them

Birmingham 1 v 2 Newcastle
Vardy (Pen) - Suarez x 2 (Mane, Pjanic_
MOTM - Mane

Spurs v Arsenal

Despite languishing near the bottom, Spurs have been a tough nut to crack, Arsenal were to find out today. A fine defensive display from the cbs guarded by Matic and Kante, stopped Arsenal in their tracks. Tbh Spurs created very little and it was one moment of magic in a very much backs against the wall performance, Kante playing to Silva and a quick turn he found Dembele in space, he rattled the cross bar but it came down inside the goal, the linesman had a big say in this goal. Arsenal pushed and pushed but couldn't blow the Spurs house down.

Spurs 1 - 0 Arsenal
Dembele (silva)
MOTM - Matic

Aston Villa v Stoke
In form Villa looking to keep the race open at the top v a vastly improving Stoke side, the game was turned on its head with a very early red card for Xhaka, helping the away side. Villa however scored early after this when Higuain was played in by KDB to score a very easy tap in., Stoke found some good possession tho and made it count when Benzema found space and drilled home before HT.
Villa came out quickly and again went into the lead when Robben charged down the right, cut in and unleashed a fantastic shot into the corner. But as the the half wore on the became weary and fresh legs in Pjaca hurt them right near the death again as a fine solo effort much like Robben's gave them a very good point

Villa 2 - 2 Stoke

Son(Mkhit), Robben - Benzema(Kovacic), Pjaca
Xhaka

MOTM - Difficult one this but Coquelin gets it for holding Villa together after the sending off
