He even took the West Ham player with him Keep it up kiddo, your unorthodox defending is pretty entertaining to watch!

That was incredible defending.
...................
In reality it was. Just about any other defender would have left it after slipping over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The slip was a mistake (or maybe just unlucky) but the scrabbling and throwing his head at it was brave and determined.
For the latter part at least, its very good.

Can't fault his commitment. You get the sense he'd kill himself to avoid conceding. Probably why Jose favours him, and he's making a good case for himself as #1 CB alongside Bailly.

Incredibly brave recovery defending. There was a very real chance of receiving a KO kick to the head if Giroud has chosen to swing a leg at it.

Thank you Freedom
Nothing will ever, ever beat that Arsenal header.
I reckon if the subsequent touch off the boot hadn't been so heavy, he'd have put his life on the line trying to bring the Arsenal player down with his head

I remember Vidic and Tevez both doing some pretty funny/brave headers for us.

I once gave away a free kick doing pretty much the same thing Jones did btw.
The ref gave some sh*tty excuse (or so I thought) about me doing 'dangerous heading' or something like that.
I spoke to a guy who was a ref a while after it happened and he said it could be classed as something like (I was in the pub so I can't remember exactly) ungentlemanly contact because by putting you head towards where a player can kick it (i.e. next to the ball) means that it would force him not to play the ball because of the risk of causing you harm.

Shame a few more of our lads aren't committed like Jones.
