Transfer Saga: Ozil, Sanchez

The media, of course, are having a field day with this one. But what should be the best course of action from Arsenal?

As a club, I believe we have done tremendously well keeping our stars over the past couple of years unlike before. With the contracts of these two coming to an end in 18 months or so, I think we have to start thinking about the "what ifs".

Apparently, Wenger has taken a stance which indicates he wants to keep them (of course, duh!). However, he is also signalling the possibility of losing them, stating that the club is bigger than any single player. While this is true, we have to accept that the likes of Ozil and Sanchez may have helped us acquire top talents such as Cech, Xhaka and Mustafi. This in turn has kept us competitive and we have looked like champions lately than we have been in a very long time, and we might finally get something this season.

Trouble is, we have to draw a line in the sand and determine what is reasonable and what has gone too far. Personally, I will table something in the region of 200k and 230k, with the possibility of an increment if they both help us win the league.

Thoughts?

Sanchez is off not sure about Ozil

What concerns me is the contract saga regarding Sanchez and Ozil has started a media circus that is specifically intended to destabilise our club. You have so many people (haters and wums), who have no love for our club, giving bad advice and casting aspersions. On top of this, you have simple minded Gooners who believe everything they hear or reading and start going into meltdown and turning on their own club

Yes, we should quickly sort out deals to tie down Sanchez and Ozil as soon as possible.

Yes, the longer it takes, the worse the effect will be felt in more ways than just potentially losing the players.

Yes, these are special players that deserve special rewards to keep them as a sign of the talent potential that they posses.

No, we shouldn't be throwing them blank cheques in a bid to keep them.

Ozil however I think has been poor for Arsenal and only turned up now he is playing for a contract.

He was even better last season though.

We sell Sanchez and how musch will we get? £100m?

Would we be able to get someone who can fill theo void he would leave with the money?

I'd rather not lose him but if we do and the club replace him properly its not the end of the world.

In the summer Sanchez will have one year left on his contract unless he signs a new one.

He won't go for £100m.

Yeah with a year left, we won't get a huge fee for Sanchez . Probably like 45/50m at best. Whatever happens I hope we sort it out early in the window. If he really wants to leave sell him quickly for a high price, and replace with a world class player ASAP. Try avoid a summer long saga. Also don't want a situation where he basically decides to join a club for free at end of next season, then ends up putting in half the effort for us.

Having said that I think he'll sign. He seems very happy, and is the main man here. Won't necessarily be the same at another club. A lot could depend on how motivated by huge money he is.
