The Five Stages of Grief

The five stages of grief are generally known as denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Just to get psychological for a moment (yeah i googled all this.....)...they are apparently a part of the psychological framework that makes up our learning to live with loss.

So it's interesting to see both fans and even pundits going through these stages at different points

Denial - a heck of a lot of this going on at the minute. Remember when lawro has down to lose every week last year in his predictions? It's the opposite this year. He even thinks we will beat man city today. Some fans on here are going through the same thing - notably 'owd Nev, convincing himself, just like Claudio, that things will just come good given time. JG too, convinced Ranieri has been done over by Steve Walsh and just needs another £150m in January to put it all right...

Anger - A few us going through this one right now, I was there a few weeks back myself. It's not that you're not grateful for last season at all, it's forever etched in the memory - but no one wants the tag of the champions who got relegated the next year. We can't stand to see the lack of effort. I'd say Thorney is here and possibly even CoE who is moving out of the denial phase. Well done CoE

Bargaining - A harder one to define but generally thought of as trying to plead with God or put some self imposed rule onto yourself - maybe even as punishment. Eg if Leicester lose again then I'm going to boo or I'm tearing my season ticket up. Let's put true blue in here who refuses to support Leicester any longer unless CR plays a 3-5-2.

Depression - self explanatory really. I'll put me, Florida and Dunge here. We're all just morbid at the minute, not really seeing any hope. It's all downhill so let's just kill ourselves and be done with it. I expect Mersey and Foxello to join shortly

Acceptance - There's nothing we can do. There's no point being upset anymore. We are the champions who got relegated and the club ballsed it up but hey what a great season when we won the title. No ones here yet but i think this is where we need to get to.

So which stage are you?? Discuss

The EPL trophy belongs to Kante.

Yeah I hope so

Even if you change formations it'll still be the same players. The squad doesn't have the quality.

Nev - we were expecting to fight relegation when NP was in charge, having said that by December he was getting absolute pelters on here, most notably by you.

So I'd ask the question in reverse, why does CR and before him Sven get off so lightly? If this was Pearson you'd be demanding for his immediate sacking

The central midfield certainly doesn't. A change in formation is going to do as much as some believe it will.

Some good analysis on BT sport (for a change) on Mahrez. He basically has stopped looking up and picking out Vardy completely even when he has the same opportunities to. These days he takes the extra touch or tries to do something more clever, Vardy is still making the same runs

Feeling MUCH better. Let's hope we can hold out but unsurprisingly when we play well Wahl, we tend to do quite well
