How about we actually take a cup competition seriously for once under pochettino looking at our draw and the fact that some of the best teams in the competition have drawn eachother ( Roma v Villereal ) , I see no reason why we can't go far in this competition and possibly win it. I am fed up of ending potless season after season and I actually want to see us win something for once. What better way to win it and get a CL place at the same time. If it means sacrificing the league to be in with a better chance of winning this cup then so be it. We certainly got more chance of winning this than we have of getting top 4 if you go by our latest league form. We are 4 rounds away from winning something. We are well over half a season away from possibly getting a top 4 place. I'd rather take my chances and go all out for the cup. Let's win something for once!!!!! Coys

Why not go for both? Why does Tottenham have this mentality that it is impossible to compete in two competitions at the same time? It is not, many teams do this every season.

If win the Europa or the Fa cup season then I'm confident for the league next season. Hugo's a quality keeper, Toby is a rock Wanyama is the perfect destroyer, Kane's a goal scorer. All we are a missing is a quality number and CF to come on and score some goals from the bench.

I don't understand why any club wouldn't want to go for it personally.
At the end of the day it's a major European trophy and the final if you can make it, is a great day out; especially if you come home with the trophy.
Add to that CL qualification - seems like a no brainer to me!
The league - take it game by game!

How about finishing top four and beating UTD in the final of the Europa League cup? How do you like them apples?

I assume this article is an adjustment to the general Spurs fan view held at the beginning of the season. I say this because after challenging for the title last season, to finish outside the top 4 will be a step backwards.
However, I also understand this point of view given the way things look for Spurs at the moment.
But the question is why should the two be mutually exclusive?.
There seems to be a sudden perception that teams playing in Europe can no longer win or challenge for the title and that bewilders me given the history of serious contenders or past winners of the CL and most European leagues.
Spurs could go on a winning run of 8 games and suddenly find their league title challenge revitalized, just as Chelsea have done.
I think this article smells a bit of throwing in the towel after just 15 games in the PL.

Yes it is incredible how up and down Spurs fans are.
Last week after 5-0, it was we can get back in title race.
Now doom and gloom. So fickle

The thing about winning trophies is that you have to consistently play your best side in these competitions year after year. And then one year you get on a really good run, have a little luck along the way and you win something. We don't do this even for one season so us actually winning something in the foreseeable future seems unlikely.
