As we're now officially halfway through the season I figured I'd crunch a few numbers and what I found was extremely promising for us:
In our last 10 matches we've taken 24 out of a possible 30 points.
That's an average of 2.4 points per match.
If we can maintain that average through the rest of the season and add the points we gain to what we already have, we'll be looking at a total of (rounded to the nearest whole number) 96 points!
Comparing that to the final tables of every season since we came up from L1, a total of 96 points would have seen us finish top 2 in all 6 seasons. In 5 out of those 6 seasons, we would've gone up as champions!
I don't know what Monk's done to this team but I am loving every second of it.

Thing is, our first 3/4 games were right offs due to poor prep, new signings, new manager etc etc. So tbh, we should pick up as many points in the second half of the season as we have in the first. We've also been very unlucky with injuries so that will surely be be better in the second half, we also have the out of form players now in form so again, they should be better in the second half. All roads atm point to a very positive end to our season.
We've been playing poorly of late and winning by the odd goal. We played well against Norwich and Preston and dicked them. If we play well, we will thump most sides.

Would take 2 points per game to be fair... but with Brighton constantly playing against 10 men these days we haven't a chance of top 2... that's 4 games in a row where they have played large chunk of the game vs 10... lucky bastrds
