Gestede/Rhodes swap

Really, these links to Jordan Rhodes don't seem that strong and are probably just lazy. But what gets me is why Middlesbrough, West Brom and Newcastle are all battling over Gestede. Am I missing something? WHY?

Gestede is decent no more, no less..just paper talk atm

So presuming it is something that could possibly happen Villa will have to stump up some cash, but imo definitely a deal worth doing

Presumably they think they can slot him into their style of play. I like Gestede, there's never been a problem with his attitude, but he was lost in the pathetic side we had and even though we're improving I don't think he suits the direction we're going in. Swap with Rhodes would be good. Rhodes and Kodjia up front would be a killer; Rhodes can create as well as score.

tbh if Gestede, Ayew, & Kozak left I wouldn't be heartbroken

IF, we had Kodija, Rhodes, McCormack and Young Murphy as our strikers I would be more than happy and obvs Gabby aint going anywhere but I like his new attitude I guess

Still need a CM and a RB imo

I'll be amazed if Albion are interested in Gestede. It's just paper talk because Albion are looking for cover for Salomon Rondon, but I believe we're also about to offer Saido Berahino a new contract.

We must keep Ayew. Too good a player to lose, even if he is inconsistent. Kozak & Gestede agree. We desperately need a really good CM and RB imo.
