Off topic - fast food tax

If this was introduced, would you be for or against?

Personally I feel utter crap like McDonald's should be hammered as bad as tobacco firms seeing as their products are almost as unhealthy and cause issues.

A sugar tax is a great idea too.

Good /bad idea?

Sorry, he was Jim Fixx. Odd name.

Fixx didn't invent jogging, he merely spent tonnes of times ranting and writing about the health benefits associated with getting out for a run. He was attempting to be a one man crusade against obesity.

Roman soldiers we jogging for fitness purposes thousands of years before Fixx existed. It's well documented.

Invented jogging .

Well I know he didn't 'invent' jogging, people have always jogged for the bus for example. But he did popularise it as a way of getting fit. Mr pedantic.

I've just come up with an ideal low impact, gentle new way of walking to keep fit.
Think Ill call it strolling.

Sounds too much like hard work. But I'll wait for the DVD before I pass judgement.

Christopher Walken invented walking. Prior to that everyone used to saunter.

Fact.

The problem is we have everything done for us these days. The physical doing of everyday things like walking, gardening etc would keep a lot of people fit.
