Forest v Barnsley - Match Thread

Happy New Year everyone!!! It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me....and I'm feeling good!

Why? The transfer window is open and according to Wikipedia (lol) the new owner is a Mr Moores.

It won't be long until we see our club juggled and muddled once again. Either that or some players think £10k a week is good early business for them and us...yes Mr Jokic....you would do perfectly for now. You even know how to get to the ground.

Tomorrow sees the arrival of Barnsley who have surely recovered from our 5-2 demolition job. Remember November...it was all.feeling so positive.

Surely if Monty's squad rotation is anything to go by then Bendtner should either have his feet up, or at least be feeling the warmth of his fine cashmere bench warming knickers. However, this might also mean Hobbs is rested and Mancienne is drafted back in. For the love of god....no!!!!

I'm sure some kind of prematch talk will be up on Forest soon enough, but in the meantime. I'd go with this:

Stojkovic
Cash Hobbs Worrall Lichaj
Pereira Kasami Lam Osborn
Assombalonga Vellios

Henderson, Perquis, Anel, Grant, Vaughan, Dumitru, Bendtner

Against Wolves we just failed to turn up, against Huddersfield we just needed to not score own goals even though we still didn't turn up. Against Newcastle we needed Mills to remember it's a team game and for the fourth official to stick to his job.

We've been a bit unlucky and not helped ourselves, but the defence has improved immensely with Hobbs and when Worrall and Pinillos return I think we'll surprise a few people.

The next 3 league games are all winnable in Barnsley (H), Brum (A) and Bristol City (H).

We've played all our toughest fixtures pretty much. Now is the time for the most spectacular play-offs charge in EFL history!!

Are you ready for the rollercoaster? It's time to buckle up, we've hit the summit of our w @ nkness and now it's time to go weeeeeee all the way home to the Premiership.

66 points to play for. Let's see how many we can get!!!

COYRs!!!!!

The worst thing today - Bendters response at full time. Immediately swaps shirt with a Barnsley player. Really? Get a souvenir from Barnsley. Disgrace.

Glad Monty realised Vlad was bust and gave Henderson another go. Did well by all accounts. Hobbs also cementing his place in the back four. Not much to take comfort from after another demoralising defeat but at least Monty has made some positive adjustments there.

Rumours are that Monty will be gone within the next 48 hours...

Must be something in the water in Nottingham, between you and Notts County you have taken 1 point from the last 45. Scary.

Yeah will with the new owners seemingly imminently going to take over they have yet to have contact with Montanier.

I think the writing is in the wall just from that action. He will be gone and in all likelihood the new person has already been lined up.

Please let it be Nigel Pearson.

This is not a Wum honestly, but surely with the not unrealistic possibility of you being relegated (at this rate) it is bound to have implications on the takeover and value of the club?...

That's the worry.

Whether we are taken over will depend if we get relegated now it seems.

If we are taken over and get a structure in place quickly then I think we have enough to survive ad hopefully we can start tearing down the rot that Fawaz built and rebuild.

We are free falling at the moment as we do not have anything in place so if the takeover falls through that will continue and so will our form.

He would probably be a good manager for us at this point in time.

If the takeover doesn't happen it will destroy what remains of morale around the club.
